Two new Batman animated films were announced at this year’s San Diego Comic Con. One is The Killing Joke, which is one of the most well known comic stories ever told. The other one, Batman: Bad Blood is more of a mystery as we don’t really know what that will be about. But Batman: Bad Blood it will be the first appearance of two members of the Bat-family outside of the comics.

Batman: Bad Blood will be the first appearance of Katherine Kane aka Batwoman & Luke Fox, aka Batwing. For those not familiar, Batwing is basically African Batman (he literally fights crime in Africa, which is a place rarely shown in comics). Batwoman is literally a female lesbian version of Batman (as in she’s also a rich socialite with a sense for justice), but is a fairly popular comic book heroine and arguably the highest profile LGBT character in comics.

In Batman: Bad Blood, Batwoman will be voiced by Yvonne Strahovski (Chuck, 24, Astronauts Wives Club) & Batwing will be voiced by Gaius Charles (Grey’s Anatomy, Aquarius). No word on any other roles as of yet, including Batman (though Jason O’Mara seems to be their go to guy lately). No real plot details are known, but Batman: Bad Blood will continue from events that happened in previous Batman animated movies such as Son of Batman & Robin vs. Batman. Batman: Bad Blood is scheduled for release sometime in 2016.
