See The First Full Trailer For Guardians Of The Galaxy Animated Series

The Guardians of the Galaxy are coming to Disney XD next month, and they really hope you’re still digging the songs on Star Lord’s Awesome Mix Vol. 1.

Or at least the people behind the Guardians of the Galaxy animated series sure feel like they can get you “Hooked on a Feeling” again. As you can see in the series’ first official trailer, debuted earlier today by Entertainment Weekly, the new show will have all the same elements audiences enjoyed to the tune of over $333 million last year. Even though the series won’t be set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it will be faithful to the team’s depiction in the Marvel movies. Think of it as an alternate universe that diverges right after the first film and I think you’ll be just fine.

Indeed, even though the trailer is only 30 seconds long, it’s cut in a way to cram in as many familiar elements from the film as possible. Kevin Michael Richardson sounds great delivering Groot’s sole line (no bonus points for guessing what it is), and the rest of the voice cast is packed with talent, including Will Friedle, Vanessa Marshall, Trevor Devall and David Sobolov.

In other words, you’re probably going to want to watch this. Guardians of the Galaxy is set to premiere with its two-part pilot on September 26 at 9:30 pm on Disney XD.
