Review: LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League: Attack Of the Legion Of Doom
It’ the most unnecessarily long title of all time-LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League: Attack Of the Legion Of Doom is out on Blu-Ray DVD and Digital Formats. In LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League: Attack Of the Legion Of Doom, individual villains aren’t having much luck against the recently formed Justice League, so Lex Luthor, Sinestro and Manta join forces with several other villains to form The Legion of Doom and take out the Justice League once and for all. But behind the formation of this Legion of Doom is an even more sinister plot! the Lego DC movies are pretty much geared towards the youngest audience possible, but manage to usually be pretty entertaining for all ages. Is that the case with LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League: Attack Of the Legion Of Doom? Read on to find out.

The plot of LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League: Attack Of the Legion Of Doom is one we’ve seen about a billion times before. Villains join up, give heroes more trouble than usual, etc. But hey this is not something you come into expecting a deep intricate plot. There are really two main elements of the story in LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League: Attack Of the Legion Of Doom. Firstly, Cyborg, as the youngest and least experienced member of the Justice League, is doubting that he’s worthy to be a member (doesn’t help that he keeps making mistakes). Secondly, it also introduces the Martian Manhunter to the Lego DC movie universe, as he is freed by the Legion of Doom and tricked into helping them at first. LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League: Attack Of the Legion Of Doom manages to balance these and the overarching battle against the Legion of Doom story line surprisingly well, giving them all good time to develop (and in less than 80 minutes).
Admittedly there area few scenes that don’t make a whole lot of sense and are groan worthy to anyone over the age of six (the “try outs” for Legion of Doom members) and the fact that the movie ends with the Justice League dancing for some reason), but most of the humor is surprisingly decent. The best scene for well-versed comic book fans in the film is easily Mark Hamill, famous as the voice of the Joker, is voicing a character called the Trickster, who he’s also known for portraying in both animation and TV, and explaining how these two villains who like to do practical jokes are nothing alike! That scene pretty much made the movie worthwhile all by itself.
LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League: Attack Of the Legion Of Doom doesn’t blow your mind but it does easily surpass the admittedly low expectations of a movie meant for 5 year-olds that is probably meant to sell Lego sets. It’s definitely one of those rare family films that’s got a least little something for kids and grown-up comic book fans so I definitely recommend it as something you can watch with the kids and not be annoyed to have to sit through.
