With No Batman Cartoon, DC to Focus on JLA?
By Skip Harvey
As we’ve discussed before, DC’s animation department has had a hard time filling the void left by the Batman: The Animated Series/Justice League/Justice League Unlimited run that defined the Caped Crusader for so many around the world.
While Batman: The Brave and the Bold had a decent run, The Batman and Beware the Batman were abject failures in comparison to TAS. It’s true that watching habits have changed and television is an evolving medium, DC and WB would undoubtedly like to have something more than the Batman Unlimited films coming out to introduce Batman to younger audiences.
Now it seems they may have something in the works.
A Reddit user named UnknownJ25 recently snatched a photo that was supposedly taken in the new WB Burbank offices. In it we see the lineup of upcoming WB cartoons like Mike Tyson Mysteries and Be Cool Scooby Doo. The one that stands out is JLA.
This is likely not referring to the previous Justice League series since that was never called JLA. This looks brand new, so there’s a distinct possibility that we’ll see Batman on the small screen sometime in the near future.
