DC Entertainment to Release DVD/Blu-ray/Comic Sets
By Skip Harvey
Wisely, DC Entertainment has decided to make the direct connection with comic book adaptations and their source material.
Starting early next year DC will release a combo set of animated films on DVD and Blu-ray along side actual comics.
"In early 2016 fans will be treated to a second wave of Graphic Novel & DVD/Blu-Ray sets from DC Entertainment. This time, featured titles will include Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, Justice League + Justice League: Throne of Atlantis. The reveal of the new sets is on the heels of the successful release of the first wave of Graphic Novel & DVD/Blu-Ray sets that launched this summer that included: Batman: Year One, Batman Black And White + Batman: Gotham Knight, The Death Of Superman + Superman: Doomsday, JLA Earth 2 + Justice League: Crisis On Two Earths, Justice League + Justice League: War and Wonder Woman. The first six films and the groundbreaking graphic novels that influenced them can be purchased in an exclusive slipcase starting November 3rd and is a must-have for the Holiday season."
This is a smart move on the publisher’s part. For a long time during this golden age of comic media audiences often relied on just seeing the movie or TV show so they didn’t have to read the comic to get in on the party. You simply can’t hope they’ll run out and buy the comic, you need to give them incentive or just blatantly put it in their hands.

This is just a start, but it’s a good one. I hope it leads to more crossover with their media.
