Noel Batman Statue Will Be The Only Gift Under Your Tree
Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house only one gift laid about. The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, but because of that one gift they were all bare.
That’s how I feel about this recently announced Batman statue from Sideshow Collectibles based on the graphic novel Noel.
In Noel, which is loosely based on the Charles Dickens’ holiday classic A Christmas Carol, Batman is chasing down Bob Cratchit . But it’s not the Bob Cratchit we are all familiar with. This Bob is a henchman of the Joker, and the story of Noel is told from his point of view, with Batman taking on the role Ebeneezer Scrooge as he tells the story to his son, because of course a criminal would think Batman is like Scrooge.
Noel is filled with other denizens of the Batman universe taking on the roles of the characters from a Christmas Carol. Jason Todd is basically Jacob Marley, Catwoman is the Ghost of Christmas Past. And who more fitting for the role of Christmas present than Superman?
So this latest Sideshow Collectibles figure is based on Noel, and much like the ridiculously expensive Arkham Knight figure we featured previously it clocks in at an astonishing $900. I’m all for quality figures, but I can’t imagine ever spending that much on just one. Like I’d rather send way more on a life-size statue if we are getting into ridiculously high amounts like this.

It’s also worth noting that Sideshow Collectibles clearly has no idea what Noel is actually about, just read their product description:
"Prime 1 Studio is proud to present Batman Noel from Batman Arkham Origins designed by acclaimed artist Lee Bermejo. In this spectacular graphic novel, Batman must come to terms with his past, present and future, as he battles villains from the campy 1960s to the dark and brooding menaces of today, while exploring what it means to be the hero that he is."
That is ridiculous and hilarious at the same time. You think they would’ve done a quick Google search or something.

Anyways, if you are thinking of ordering this ridiculously expensive statue, you better be planning for next Christmas, as it isn’t even expected to ship until somewhere between May and June of next year. That will give you plenty of time to pay it off installments though!
