Dragon Ball Super: Episode 90 preview teases Goku vs Gohan battle

The Dragon Ball Super episode 90 preview teases a tag-team match and Goku vs Gohan battle.

The “Universal Survival” saga for Dragon Ball Super is well underway. The saga features the Tournament of Power, which groups the ten best warriors from competing universes. They will fight in a “Battle Royale” style match. And the losing universes will be eliminated by the Omni-Kings.

Recent episodes have followed Goku’s attempts to recruit ten members. However, one episode was slightly different. Episode 88 did not feature Goku at all, but, instead, featured Gohan and Piccolo. Gohan had opted to train with his master once again, in hopes to get stronger for the tournament.

What we saw in the episode was Gohan finally reclaiming his Ultimate form—a form he hasn’t used since Dragon Ball Z. Piccolo pushed Gohan to be the best fighter he could possibly be. He even believed that Gohan could surpass this form.

In the latest episode, we saw Goku successfully recruit Tien and Roshi. This now means Universe 7 has all its members. And now all that remains are for the competitors to prepare. Which leads us to episode 90.

We learned from the episode synopsis that we will witness a tag team match—Goku and Tien vs Gohan and Piccolo. Gohan had suggested to Piccolo that they should work on tag-team maneuvers in episode 88. So we may see what they managed to conjure up.

The synopsis also added that we will see Gohan vs Goku. Gohan believes that he could surpass his father, which leads to their encounter. The episode preview allows us to get a glimpse of what’s to come:

One thing we can see is that Goku transforms into his Super Saiyan form when fighting Gohan. Gohan asks Goku to go full power. So this leads us to believe that we will see a serious fight. We know from previous serious fights that Goku tends to utilize the majority of his forms. Although, we didn’t see him use his Super Saiyan Blue form. So it’s worth wondering whether he will utilize it in the fight.

Another thing we noticed was a glimpse of Universe 10. We saw Rumoosh (the God of Destruction) meeting with Gowasu (the Supreme Kai). The last we saw of Universe 10 extensively was the “Future Trunks” saga. We know Universe 10 will participate in the Tournament of Power. So it’s intriguing to see what their preparations will entail.
