Film Noir – Batman

If there’s a hero who can fit right into a style that rarely exists in today’s films let along a comic book movie. With Matt Reeves already rewriting the script and directing he promises to give fans a lot more of Bruce Wayne’s detective skills. Reeves expressed his desire to make his Batman film one that borrows elements from Albert Hitchcock. There are a number of stories that can allow Reeves to explore that side of Batman including one that fits the current state of the DCEU with Knightfall.

Knightfall follows a battered and broken Bruce Wayne who’s on a path to recovery after being beaten by Bane. This would give the DCEU and Matt Reeves a chance to really dive deep into Bruce Wayne behind the mask as he’s forced to wear only his detective hat while he goes on a search to find the kidnapped parents of his sidekick, Tim Drake. Meanwhile, the man he put in charge to protect Gotham is sullying Batman’s good name. It’s a story that involves tragedy, pessimism, love, and everything you need to make a great film noir flick.
