9. Aquaman

One a laughing stock hero of the Justice League, but with his new depiction in the DCEU he isn’t as useless as he was once thought to be. A lot of that has to do with the swag of the actor portraying him, Jason Mamoa. But swag isn’t what got him on the list. While he’s not yet cracked the top half of the list, he’s still pretty great in his own right. After all, he may or may not have saved Superman’s life in Man of Steel. Okay, so his swag, grungy nature, and tattoos make him way cooler than some of the other heroes which is why he makes the list.

Still, in Justice League he proved to be useful in more ways than his other team partner, Cyborg. Aquaman’s power to control the vastness of the ocean is impressive. He’s as useful outside the water as he is inside since he’s able to manipulate water from almost anywhere makes him a very powerful hero. We’ll get to see just how great he is as we explore the depths of Atlantis in James Wan Aquaman which is set to be released December 21, 2018.

8. Martian Manhunter

Martian Manhunter is thought to be one of the strongest heroes in all of DC. While that may be true in the comics, it doesn’t hold true with the live-action version of the hero. David Harewood plays the green guy from Mars very well on the CW show Supergirl, however, too often he needs the help from the last daughter of Krypton to fight. They tried their best to dumb him down by having him take a backseat to Supergirl, but his abilities can’t be denied. In fact, Martian Manhunter doesn’t become a hero until Supergirl challenges him. He does, however, display amazing power from his shapeshifting ability to his telekinesis.

Additionally, he’s as strong as Supergirl, can take flight, and is a superior intellect. Moreover, he’s played a major role in Supergirl becoming a hero putting her through intense training and often challenging her. It doesn’t hurt that he also knows the weaknesses of both Kryptonians, so if they were to fight, chances are he’d win. Manhunter has been around long before Supergirl, and will likely be around after, so he is, without a doubt one of the greatest heroes of the DCU. Since he often relies on Supergirl, he has to be placed here on the list. Nevertheless, there’s no doubt that Martian Manhunter can hold it down on his own should the world need him.
