1. Spider-Man

There’s arguably no hero more recognizable than the web-slinger from Manhattan. Peter Parker aka Spider-Man has a story that’s been told on film and TV for decades. Tom Holland is the latest to play the actor and shined in his debut fighting alongside the other MCU heroes in Captain American: Civil War. Like the others on the list, we aren’t expecting him to wield Captain America’s shield but there’s arguably no better hero more qualified to become the face of the MCU.

Replacing Captain American with a youthful wide-eyed hero like Spider-Man would send a jolt through the MCU. In the comics Spider-Man never became the leader of the Avengers but he is a leader in his own right. He has even spearheaded a mission to space that saw him and the Thing rescue Captain Marvel and the Avengers. While the MCU version of Peter Parker isn’t ready to lead,  he did take a major step forward in Spider-Man: Homecoming. He turned down an offer to join the team showing his independence, like Captain America. So in time, maybe after Infinity War he would have proven why he’s the right hero to step up for Captain America — we sure think he is.

Of curse, this is all speculative and we won’t know for sure who’ll actually kick the bucket, let along it being Captain America. Avengers: Infinity War is less than two weeks away so we’ll see if Captain America is one of the fallen heroes. If so, there are a number of heroes played by wonderful actors who can step up and take his place. We’ll have to wait until Thursday, April 26, 2018, to find out.
