New concept art has been revealed to the public by a Marvel concept artist a couple of weeks after it was given out as an exclusive poster at San Diego Comic-Con.

The second entry in the highly-anticipated fourth phase of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe, The Eternals is still a while off yet.

However, Marvel concept illustrator Rodney Fuentebella took to Instagram to reveal some concept artwork from the upcoming film.

This artwork was used as an exclusive poster during San Diego Comic-Con a couple of weeks ago and this is the first time it is being revealed to the general public. It’s nothing really more than a teaser, but the art is evident that Marvel is willing to dive into the cosmic oddities of the comics.

The Celestials have been seen before in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Guardians of the Galaxy, but the designs of these look drastically different from what we have previously seen.

While very little has been announced regarding The Eternals, this concept art looks similar to the beginning of Neil Gaiman and John Romita Jr’s series. This series details the creation of The Eternals as a species, as well as bringing them into the modern day.

If the film follows this story, then it will end up being a combination of a mystery thriller and cosmic threats all rolled into one. It’s an excellent story that would be ripe for a film adaptation.

More from Marvel Cinematic Universe

The cast of the upcoming film though is star-studded already. It includes the likes of Richard Madden, Angelina Jolie, Kumail Nanjiani, Salma Hayek, and Bryan Tyree Henry.

So, even with no real story details released so far, there’s already a lot of draw for the film given the talent that is involved.

The Eternals is expected to begin shooting within the next couple of months and is set for release on November 6, 2020. It is being directed by Chloe Zhao and is being written by Matthew and Ryan Firpo.
