How should the whole “planet-eating” thing work?

Obviously, an integral part of the Galactus character is the fact he eats planets – and that can undoubtedly be a tricky thing to convey on film.

The version of the character that appeared in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer simply engulfed planets in his cloud form – which didn’t go down well with fans for a number of reasons – but it would be even more difficult to show him consuming a planet in human form.

With that in mind, we have an idea.

In the MCU, Galactus should send a Herald to Earth – like he usually does – and the Herald should place some of its master’s technology in the Earth’s core.

The technology should drain the Earth of all of its energy, preparing said energy for consumption by Galactus himself.

Galactus could then arrive on Earth in his human-sized form, interact with the heroes of the planet, and then begin consuming the energy by simply attaching himself to his technology.

It fits in with the fact that the MCU heavily features technology and would allow Galactus to do his thing without it looking ridiculous.

Then, should Galactus succeed in consuming said energy, he could transform into his humongous form for a short period afterward – obviously before, ultimately, being defeated.
