Ant-Man’s third installment brings on Rick and Morty writer to pen script
By Scott Brown
Even the tiniest of heroes has room to grow and that’s exactly what Marvel has done as it has found a writer for the third installment of Ant-Man.
In an exclusive from The Hollywood Reporter, it has been announced that Jeff Loveness, known for his work on Rick and Morty, has been brought on to pen the script for Ant-Man 3.
In addition to writing for Rick and Morty, Loveness has written episodes for the Daniel Radcliffe show Miracle Workers as well as serving as a writer for Jimmy Kimmel Live! from 2011 to 2016. Loveness joins returning director Peyton Reed, who was announced to return back in November.
It’s much too early to tell where the story for where the third installment of the Ant-Man franchise will go, but Loveness has plenty of threads that he can follow going forward.

As the film will more than likely be set in a post-Avengers: Endgame world, it’s possible that story will feature the return of Bill Foster and Ghost, as well as the development of Scott Lang’s daughter Cassie as she becomes a hero. This was hinted at during the events of Ant-Man and the Wasp, but now that Cassie is a teenager, thanks to the time jump, it’s much more possible now.
There’s even a slight possibility of introducing Nadia Van Dyne, the daughter of Hank Pym in the comics and a trainee of the Red Room, which could tie in directly to events that are likely to occur in the recently rescheduled Black Widow. Needless to say, Loveness has plenty to work with for his scripting of Ant-Man 3.
This isn’t the only big MCU news to have been announced today as it was revealed that most of the slate had been rescheduled after Black Widow had been delayed. Ant-Man 3 was not included in the release schedule that was put out though.
