The Flash: Major villain to make unexpected return in upcoming installment
This fan-favorite villain will return to target The Flash in the very near future, but is Barry Allen ready for him?
Barry Allen has been tried and tested by Eobard Thawne/Reverse-Flash more times than he would care to count. That couldn’t have been clearer than in was in Joshua Williamson’s run with the comics as The Flash was forced to battle his archnemesis for the fate his Flash Family and his very own body at one point time. That, however, is only the beginning of what awaits the Scarlet Speedster it seems.
The latest issue (H/T: CBR) saw Barry finally defeat Thawne in a way so emphatic that he probably won’t be hearing from the Man in the Yellow Suit for some time to come, but before he and his loved ones could celebrate – or more specifically during the celebrations – it was revealed that Dr. Alchemy was preparing from afar – reading a mystical text as he uttered the word “soon”.
Who is Dr. Alchemy on The Flash?
It was previously revealed that Alchemy would be returning when it was announced that he’d be involved in October’s The Flash No. 764 by Kevin Schnick and Clayton Henry. It was also teased that whenever they do end up facing off, the villain could very well become a god (though it has not yet been confirmed how that would even be possible).

Fans of the comics will know that Dr. Alchemy is one of The Flash’s most notorious criminals, sporadically giving the Scarlet Speedster and the Flash Family the run-around. Though there have been multiple characters to use the mantle, the most famous is Albert Desmond – who once went by the codename Mister Element.
Dr. Alchemy played a major role in the third season of The CW’s The Flash TV series. Named Julian Albert, this version was inspired by the original Albert Desmond iteration and was portrayed by Harry Potter‘s Tom Felton.
Julian was a Central City CSI created by the Flashpoint timeline that accidentally became Dr. Alchemy when he came across the Philosopher’s Stone – something that ended up leading to Savitar’s arrival.
