A new rumor suggests that the familiar faces in Spider-Man 3 will be having much more substantial roles than originally thought.

Lately, there have been a lot of developments regarding the film castings for the Spider-Man 3 film within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Some of those developments involve the return of villains from previous Spider-Man franchises, leading fans to speculate as to whether these are just cameos or full-scale roles. It turns out the answer may lie somewhere between those options.

As reported by The Direct, the multiple villainous roles could possibly be more than just cameos as those characters – and others – may actually be somewhat more integral to the main plot.

How big a role are the former Spider-Man villains playing in Spider-Man 3?

ComicBook.com tweeted out one of their articles, asking their followers if the returnees could feature in little more than “fleeting glances”. However, insider KC Walsh simply responded to the tweet with one of his own, commenting “They’re not”.

Another Twitter user then asked him about whether or not they would be minor roles to which he replied: “Most if not all of them will have action and play into the plot of the film.”

KC also mentioned the term “minor roles” can mean a lot of things, indicating that the other supporting characters – which are rumored to be with the likes of Mary Jane Watson and even Charlie Cox’s Daredevil from the Netflix TV series – could have some key moments, so they may not just be relegated to brief appearances.
