Spider-Man 3 is expected to hit theaters at the end of the year and these new set photos suggest that it could be a Christmas movie.

Despite the pandemic delaying movies such as Eternals and the highly-anticipated Black Widow, Marvel has not slowed down with its upcoming productions on the big and small screen.

Set photos from the latest entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe‘s Spider-Man franchise have revealed that the movie looks to have a festive theme. Perhaps director Jon Watts might have some Iron Man 3 inspiration in the script? The film, originally due to be released in July of 2021, has had its release date now pushed to December 17, 2021; which is oddly fitting given the holiday setting.

Photos from Just Jared reveal Peter walking through snow, and, as revealed by Atlanta Filming, Zendaya is in a bakery called Peter Pan Donut & Pastry Shop on set. Window decor on the bakery features snow and a wreath with “Merry Christmas” on it, so its safe to say this movie will have a holiday feel to it. And if fans look closely enough, they can Spot MJ wearing the Black Dahlia pendant from the previous film, Spider-Man: Far From Home, that Peter got for her in Italy.

The film, serving as the third installment in the Spider-Man franchise will have favorites Peter Parker (Tom Holland) and MJ (Zendaya) as well as Ned Leeds (Jacob Batalon) and Aunt May (Marisa Tomei) all returning. The film is carefully continuing its production in Atlanta, Georgia per local health protocols.

It has also been confirmed that Jamie Foxx will reprise his role as the villain Electro from The Amazing Spider-Man 2. In addition, Benedict Cumberbatch will have something of a supporting role in the film as well, reprising his MCU role as Doctor Strange ahead of the Doctor Strange sequel.

Peter Parker’s adventures continue in Spider-Man 3 which is slated for a December 17th release this year – an adventure that could put the multiverse on the MCU board.
