Marvel: 4 huge X-Men reveals that mutant fans should know about (October)
By Mark Lynch
These X-Men moments are going to affect Krakoa and the entirety of the Marvel Comics universe.
The X-Men are always up to something. The new age of Krakoa has made things even crazier. You’d figure having their own island nation would make things easier. On the contrary, they’ve actually gotten worse for Marvel’s mutants.
Sometimes things happen on the outside (Orchis) and sometimes it’s internal (check out Inferno and Trial of Magneto for more on that). No matter where it’s coming from, there’s always something for them to contend with. Here are the four most important moments from the X-Men you should know about this month.
Colossus is being controlled
Comic book: X-Force No. 24
Colossus gave up his life as a warrior. After years of fighting, friends and family dying, and being left at the altar, it only makes sense that he’d want some peace. And he got what he needed. He became a farmer and lived with someone he loved. For the first time in years, Piotr Rasputin was at peace. Unfortunately, his evil brother Mikhail has someone controlling his actions. So much so that Colossus killed and buried the woman he loved.
Why is this important
In X-Men: Inferno No. 2, Colossus was brought in to be the newest member of the Quiet Council of Krakoa. Xavier, Magneto, and Moira MacTaggert needed another person they could trust. They have no idea that someone is manipulating his actions. We’ll have to see how this plays out. There’s no way a powerful psychic like Xavier won’t see that something is off about Colossus, right?
