These are some of the characters that may appear in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

When the first look teaser trailer for the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse sequel, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One), dropped, fans were excited.

Miles and Gwen Stacy both looked a bit older and the animation looked even better than it did in the previous film. Those are only two thrilling things that were noticeable. There were other parts to be happy about as well. And this was only the first trailer. If Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One) wasn’t already the most anticipated movie of 2022, it is now.

The post-credits scene to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse showed Miguel O’Hara (Spider-Man 2099) venturing to another universe. As you can see in the trailer, he’ll be in this project as well. If  Spider-Man 2099 is in it, who else could appear?

We already know that Issa Rae will play Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew) but there will undoubtedly be more Spider-beings that pop up. On that note, these six options are some we could see – some that would make great additions to the project.

6. Morlun and the Inheritors

The Inheritors became a huge part of Spidey’s lore in Amazing Spider-Man: Coming Home. The first of them that we meet, Morlun, went on to beat Spider-Man worse than anyone ever has. The next time they fought, though, Morlun actually killed him (The Other: Evolve or Die). But soon after, Peter came back to life and killed him.

Morlun eventually came back. This time, he had his family with him, beginning the Spider-Verse series where Spider-People from throughout the multiverse came and helped defeat the inheritors. They appeared one more time in Spider-Geddon. This is where they were killed and were cloned into babies. The only one who survived was Morlun.

If there’s a Spider-Man villain that could cause a multiversal issue, it’s Morlun and the Inheritors. It took multiple Spider-People to beat him and it’s doubtful that they were the only Inheritors in all the multiverse. Don’t be surprised if they make an appearance in the final Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse trailer.

5. Multiverse of Madness

If there’s going to be a multiverse, there’s no reason we couldn’t see Doctor Strange, the TVA, or the Scarlet Witch. We know the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Stephen Strange and Wanda Maximoff will be reality hopping in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. And, according to Loki, the TVA monitors anomalies in the multiverse.

Of course, Across the Spider-Verse being a Sony project might cause some issues. However, we know that Venom: Let There Be Carnage  made a reference to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And, if the rumors are true, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are in Spider-Ma: No Way Home. So, maybe there’s a chance they will appear.

4. Venom

When this writer says Venom, he doesn’t necessarily mean Eddie Brock from the Sony movies. This could be a Venom from another universe. One where Peter Parker never gets rid of the Symbiote, an alternate reality Eddie Brock, or even Miles Morales. The latter would be a nice touch. Especially since it’s happening in Marvel: Dark Ages.

3. PlayStation Spider-Man

PlayStation’s Spider-Men, Peter Parker and Miles Morales, should definitely pop up in Across The Spider-Verse (Part One). This Peter knows about the multiverse too. He was one of the Spider-Men that Otto Octavius brought to help him during Spider-Geddon.

If we do see this Peter, hopefully he’ll make a Spider-Cop reference.

Miles Morales, Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse 2

2. Evil Miles Morales

We haven’t seen a lot of different versions of Miles Morales. The original (who started in the Ultimate Universe), Miles from the Disney XD Ultimate Spider-Man, PlayStation, old Miles from What if…? and Miles from Reality 616 (who worked for Wilson Fisk). If the multiverse is infinite, they can’t be the only ones.

What if the big bad in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One) is an evil and tyrannical Miles Morales? It would be a nice twist. It could lead to Miles looking inside himself and seeing if he’s capable of being bad. Plus, it’s something different.

1. MCU Spider-Men

Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is arguably the most popular Spidey of them all. With him only discovering that there are other realities out there after Spider-Man: No Way Home, why not add him to Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One) and explore that narrative further?

It’s an easy way to increase interest in a movie that is already one of the most anticipated of 2022. Everyone loves Tom Holland and the way he portrays Peter Parker. If people found out he was in this movie, fans would freak out with excitement even more than they already are.

Heck, why not add Andrew Garfield or Tobey Maguire as well?!
