Amazing Spider-Man, X-Men United, and more must-read Marvel Comics coming in 2026

What could happen to Spider-Man in 2026? Is this the year Thor becomes the God of Thunder again? What’s up with the X-Men? All of this and more must-read Marvel Comics.

It’s the beginning of the year, and with that comes new storylines. For example, in Marvel Comics, the storyline involving Cyclops’ reaction to the events of the Age of Revelation finale. And there's also what the X-Men do next after learning about the timeline that Revelation ruined. But those aren't the only must-read Marvel Comics stories that fans should be reading.

With that in mind, these seven should also be on your list of must-reads in the coming year.

The Amazing Spider-Man

Joe Kelly’s Amazing Spider-Man isn’t just about the Wall-Crawler. There have been (pardon the phrase) amazing stories following Norman Osborn and Ben Reilly to enjoy, too. Hopefully, that will continue into the New Year since it’s been interesting seeing more of the people in Peter Parker's life.

Another reason to read Amazing Spider-Man is the upcoming crossover involving Venom (who’s currently Mary Jane) called Amazing Spider-Man/Venom: Death Spiral. Things that happen in that series will likely start in one of Joe Kelly’s Amazing stories.

Captain America

Chip Zdarsky’s Captain America has been an incredible series. In 2026, the comic will include a new version of S.H.I.E.L.D., and the events of that could lead to his crossover, Armageddon.

If that isn’t enough, the cover of Wolverine: Weapons of Armageddon (also written by Zdarsky) has Logan holding Cap’s shield. At some point, everything mentioned and more will come into play in Captain America.

Alias: Red Band

It’s been a while since we’ve seen Jessica Jones star in her own title, and her Marvel Comics return is happening at the same time that Krysten Ritter returns to the role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (as Jessica Jones arrives in Daredevil: Born Again season 2).

When a comic book coincides with a TV show or movie, readers can expect an epic tale. It helps that Sam Humphries (New Avengers) and artist Geraldo Borges (Dick Tracy) are the creators behind Alias: Red Band. Hopefully, readers will become even more interested in Jessica Jones after seeing her return on Daredevil: Born Again.

Ultimate Endgame

The Marvel Comics event Ultimate Endgame is said to be the conclusion of the Ultimate Universe. If that’s the case, then every comic book fan should make sure they see how it finishes, and if this is truly the end of the Maker or if Reed Richards is the one who Unmakes the universe.

More importantly, which characters will make the jump to Earth-616 or another universe? There’s no way every character is gone forever.

The Infernal Hulk

How long until the creature known as Eldest is no longer in the Hulk’s body? Or, and this should scare readers, what if this is the new normal? What happens if Bruce Banner and the Hulk decide to stay separate, and Eldest is a new Marvel Comics villain for the foreseeable future?

When referring to Infernal Hulk, Phillip Kennedy Johnson said: “And no corner of the Marvel Universe will be left unscathed by the time this is done.” With his exclusive Marvel Comics contract, it’s easy to guess this wasn’t hyperbole.

Mortal Thor

There are a lot of questions surrounding Mortal Thor. The most important may be when Sigurd Jarlson becomes Thor again. If that happens, will it mean that the rest of the world will remember the God of Thunder as he always was, or will it lead to confusion and drama with his friends since they remember Beta Ray Bill accomplishing all of his feats?

Plus, what consequences will Loki have to suffer for killing his brother?

X-Men United

While all of the X-Men titles could honestly be on this list, X-Men United may just be the most important one, because writer Eve L. Ewing and artist Tiago Palma are bringing the school back to mutants. However, the school isn’t a physical place. It will be in the psychic space.

Eve Ewing said “...it's so cool because the psychic space allows for things to be weirder and more surreal, while still building on the classic Xavier's School energy we've all loved for decades." That alone is enough for me.

Daredevil

It’s a new era for Daredevil and Matt Murdock, and it’s brought to us by writer Stephanie Phillips, artist Lee Garbett, and colorist Frank Martin. Together, they’ll give readers a new villain for Daredevil, who will make DD's life more Hell than it already is.

Meanwhile, Matt Murdock has a new job as a professor of law. There’s no way that these two won’t conflict with each other… right? Stay tuned to Bam Smack Pow to find out.
