Crime doesn't pay, and neither does its king... or so we believed. Daredevil: Born Again was all about Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk attempting to live within the limits of the law, but eventually returning to their old habits. The former would yet again don the iconic red suit to give criminals a glimpse into hell, while the latter would bring New York City to its knees by becoming its Mayor and bending the laws to his favor. Such an epic tale of good versus evil was too powerful to be fit into a single season, which is why all eyes are set on what's coming next in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Daredevil: Born Again season 2 will break the ongoing television tradition of waiting multiple years for a new batch of episodes. In 2026, the devil of hell's kitchen will assemble an army to take down the Kingpin of crime, and things are looking really promising so far. Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones is confirmed to join Matt's ranks, with rumors that both Luke Cage and Danny Rand could join the fight as well. But while the return of the Defenders would be enough to inflict fear on anyone, it's worth remembering that Wilson is no common man. After all, he's willing to endure the hate of a whole city, as revealed by a new look at the series.
The Kingpin will feel the wrath of New York in Daredevil: Born Again season 2
Production footage of Daredevil: Born Again season 2 was captured by user Tristan and published on X (formerly Twitter). This new look reveals that citizens aren't happy with the Kingpin's current regime, as they are seen holding signs that read "no more fear", "no king", "resist Fisk", "Fisk you", and more. All of this takes place while the Anti-Vigilante Task Force places barricades on the streets and forms a line to keep their elected Mayor safe.
There are a few things to note here. For starters, even if some people were skeptical of Fisk's new political power during the first season of Daredevil: Born Again, he wasn't universally "hated" by the end of it. So what changed since? Well, a few signs held by the crowd can't be seen in their entirety, but have the words "Find the missing..." written over them. Is the beloved Mayor being blamed for the disappearance of a group of people?
The finale of Daredevil: Born Again revealed that Wilson and Vanessa Fisk have a dungeon filled with cells where they keep anyone who dared oppose them locked away. Some of these prisoners, such as Jack Duquesne, were public figures whose disappearance will certainly raise some eyebrows. With that in mind, we can assume New York City will finally learn the Fisk's dark secret just in time for the second season. But how would anyone be able to track these people back to them? Well, maybe BB Urich was on the case.
As a side note, Matt Murdock will also be reported to be missing during the second season of Daredevil: Born Again. So, could the lawyer's sudden disappearance prompt a certain Foggy Nelson to step out of the shadows in order to search for his best friend? One can only dream.
It's also worth noting that the new footage officially confirms that Hector Ayala's niece, Angela Del Toro, will be back in the second season of Daredevil: Born Again. Interestingly enough, a cut scene from the series' first season revealed that Hector's amulet illuminated when Angela got near it, implying that she'll become the next White Tiger after her uncle. Perhaps audiences will see that storyline unfold once the new batch of episodes is released.
Last, but not least, it's important to note that the official logo of the Anti-Vigilante Task Force perfectly mimics that of the Punisher. Despite Frank Castle's clear hatred towards the corrupt cops terrorizing the city, they will get hold of the anti-hero's image. And, speaking of the devil, The Punisher is set to have his own Disney+ Special Presentation in 2026, which will surely dive deeper into how he escaped the Kingpin's cell.
All the pieces are falling into place for Wilson and Vanessa to finally pay for their actions, and we can't wait to see how it all plays out.
Daredevil: Born Again season 2 will be released in March 2026.
