The finale of Daredevil: Born Again season 2 is finally here, and it pulls no punches. Shocking comebacks took place, a lot of blood was spilled, and Matt Murdock had to pay a very high price to defeat the Kingpin of Crime. Despite that, the Man Without Fear's tale in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is just getting started.

Daredevil: Born Again season 3 is currently being filmed, with a potential release date set for March 2027. There's plenty more Matt Murdock coming our way, and the only question remaining is: What does the next chapter of his life have in store for him? Well, if you've watched the Season 2 finale, then you already have a very good idea of what Marvel intends to do with the character.

But before we break down what will happen in Daredevil: Born Again Season 3, be warned: there will be spoilers for the entirety of season 2 below. If you aren't caught up on the Man Without Fear's most recent adventure, return once you have watched all eight episodes of his Disney+ series.

Daredevil: Born Again season 3 will be an adaptation of The Devil in Cell-Block D

In order to overthrow the Kingpin of Crime as New York's mayor, Matt Murdock had to do the unthinkable and reveal his secret identity to the entire world. While the beloved Marvel hero won the war, he had to pay the ultimate price: he was arrested for the crimes he committed as a "vigilante". The final shot of season 2 showcased Matt in his cell, completely alone, and grinning. That only means all hell will break loose, as we're about to watch an adaptation of an iconic comic book run.

The Devil in Cell-Block D is a beloved storyline in which Matt Murdock's secret identity is exposed, and he goes to jail. In the opening issue of the series, Foggy Nelson visits his best friend in prison, only to be stabbed "to death" by an inmate (who was working for Vanessa Fisk). As if that wasn't bad enough, Matt is forced to live in the very same place as many of the criminals he captured. Trapped between a rock and a hard place, the Man Without Fear has to team up with the Kingpin of Crime to survive a riot.

To make matters worse, Bullseye is also imprisoned in the very same facility as Matt Murdock. Fortunately, not everything is bad for our iconic hero, as The Punisher willingly lets himself be apprehended and sentenced in order to help Daredevil survive such a hellish place.

Just when you thought no more iconic Marvel characters could show up to the party, a mysterious new player in town disguises himself as Daredevil and helps Matt with his alibi. As it turns out, Iron Fist was protecting Hell's Kitchen in Matt's absence. But the most shocking part? Foggy Nelson is revealed to be alive by the end of this tale.

With Matt going to prison on the small screen, it is all but confirmed that we'll see an adaptation of The Devil in Cell-Block D. Furthermore, set pictures of Daredevil: Born Again season 3 reveal that all of the Defenders, including Iron Fist, are bound to make a comeback. Granted, it will be difficult for Danny Rand to help Matt with an alibi in the Disney+ series, given that the latter showcased his special abilities to the whole world. However, one thing is clear: the Defenders are coming to the rescue.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 will also feature the debut of Heather Glenn's Muse, portrayed by Margarita Levieva. Furthermore, set pictures also reveal that Wilson Fisk will be back, though he'll be undercover to avoid being captured by the police. With a bit of luck, Foggy Nelson will also make his long-awaited comeback, just as it happens in the source material.

Dark days lie ahead for the Man Without Fear, and he seems.... happy? Fortunately, it won't be long before we discover what will happen in the next chapter of Daredevil's story, as Born Again season 3 will be released in 2027.

Daredevil: Born Again season 2 is now streaming on Disney+.
