The Marvel Disney Plus shows aren't usually known for being renewed for a second season. Granted, animated series such as Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and What If...? are exceptions to that rule. However, when it comes to the live-action adaptations, only Loki has broken the mold so far. Fortunately, another character is set to join the God of Mischief next year.
Daredevil: Born Again season 2 has already wrapped filming and will be released in 2026. But while fans have yet to learn if Matt Murdock will be able to form an army to take down the Kingpin of crime (and whether that Spider-Man Easter Egg ends up leading to something), it seems it's already time to look beyond season 2 and into 2027.
Marvel officially greenlights season 3 of Daredevil: Born Again; shooting begins in 2026
The devil of Hell's Kitchen is not only back, but he's here to stay. During an interview with IGN, Head of Streaming, Television and Animation at Marvel Studios, Brad Winderbaum, confirmed that Marvel has greenlit a third season of Daredevil: Born Again, and that shooting will begin in 2026: "In terms of Daredevil, yeah, we are greenlit for Season 3 and we start shooting next year".
This aligns with a report that claimed both Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio—the actors behind Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk, respectively—signed contracts for at least three seasons. Interestingly enough, the report also mentioned that Disney could renew the show beyond season three depending on the reception of the second season, which is set to be released in March 2026. Fortunately, there's a high chance that the next batch of episodes is even better than the ones we've seen so far.

The first Season of Daredevil: Born Again was met with positive reactions, but it was the result of two different creative visions. The show was originally intended to be a full-on reboot, completely isolated from the Netflix adaptation, which meant characters like Foggy Nelson and Karen Page wouldn't have made an appearance. That's why the role of Vanessa Fisk was originally intended to be portrayed by Sandrine Holt instead of Ayelet Zurer. It wasn't until a creative reboot mid-production that a new team took over and used as much of the material already filmed while also adding new scenes to establish the show as a proper follow-up to the Netflix series. However, the same scenario won't happen moving forward.
Daredevil: Born Again season 2 was made from scratch by the new creative team, which means the next batch of episodes will truly give fans a grasp of what the future looks like for the Man Without Fear. The connections to the Netflix adaptation will only grow stronger, as iconic locations such as Fogwell's Gym are expected to make a comeback, while beloved characters such as Jessica Jones will return to the small screen. While rumor has it that all of the Defenders will come back for season 2, there's a chance that such a storyline could be saved for season 3 or beyond, seeing as there's no end in sight for Born Again.
Brad Winderbaum previously stated that Daredevil: Born Again is intended to have indefinite annual releases, and that plan is certainly coming to fruition. That means season 3 will likely be released in March 2027. Fans were understandably scared about Matt Murdock's future when Charlie Cox called the second season "the final season". Fortunately, not only is season 3 a reality, but there's room for even more to come.
Daredevil: Born Again season 2 will be released on March 2026.
