It's safe to say that Star Wars fans have been waiting for this moment: The Mandalorian and Grogu has finally arrived in movie theaters. The first Star Wars movie in seven years, the Lucasfilm production brings the franchise's two most popular Disney Plus characters to the silver screen for a standalone adventure that lets them shine in front of a whole new audience.

While fans are ready to see Mando and Grogu take to the big screens, the film comes with a new question that they generally weren't asking throughout the series: Is there a post-credits scene in The Mandalorian and Grogu? After credits scenes have become a fixture of moviemaking thanks to major franchises like Marvel Studios' MCU, so does Star Wars channel that too in its newest installment?

The Mandalorian and Grogu's end credits feature incredible music from Ludwig Göransson

Although The Mandalorian and Grogu doesn't feature a post-credits scene there is more than enough reason to stick around after the end of the movie. That's all down to the work of Academy and Emmy Award-winning composer Ludwig Göransson, whose incredible work is showcased during the credits in all of its glory.

After the movie cuts to black, we are immediately met with an even more triumphant version of
Göransson's stunning Mandalorian series theme, which swells to its peak as soon as the words "The Mandalorian and Grogu" appear on-screen. Just as you watched the credits of the Disney Plus series knowing that you can't skip that incredible mix of phenomenal sounds and beautiful concept art, the movie ensures that you need to remain seated to appreciate that music on the biggest screen imaginable.

When the theme concludes, we get more synth-like '80s sounds, which very much dominated the early part of the movie when The Mandalorian and Grogu spend some time on Shakari. This score in particular is a throwback to the science fiction movies of the 1980s and breaks the norm from typical Star Wars triumph. Considering the visuals of Shikari - a very retro Blade Runner / Gotham City-like look to it - these sounds fit in perfectly.

This particular track, appropriately titled "Shikari", also separates the film from the series that it serves as a sequel to, allowing it to stand on its own two feet with its own particular tone. Therefore, hearing it in the end credits of The Mandalorian and Grogu, immediately after the typically triumphant Mandalorian score offers up the best of both worlds from the film's grand finale - reminding us of why we came and why we stayed for the whole thing.

It's not unsurprising that Lucasfilm opted against a post-credits scene for The Mandalorian and Grogu, as the film is essentially a fourth season of the TV show, it's specifically positioned in its own world and isn't worried about world-building for the rest of the Star Wars franchise. It's also unclear as to where the characters will return, even if we know that we will see them next.

Therefore, when the credits roll, you can still sit back, relax, and appreciate the grandeur of Ludwig Göransson's sensational score.
