Marvel announces the beginning of a new era for the X-Men

Marvel Comics announced a new era for the X-Men that includes multiple new titles where a lot of characters and teams will be confronted with mistakes and enemies from their past.

The X-Men crossover Age of Revelation will end by casting a shadow over what’s next for Earth’s Mightiest Mutants, the X-Men. And according to Marvel, “the X-Men are now armed with knowledge to prevent one of the darkest futures in Marvel Comics history. It’s time to embrace bold action, strengthen alliances, and empower the next generation!”

In short, it’s time for a new era, Shadows of Tomorrow

Marvel Comics’ The Krakoan Age, Fall of X, and From the Ashes are the recent crossovers starring the X-Men. During the latter, the teams have been divided. There’s Kitty Pryde and Emma, who are teaching a new generation of mutants in Chicago (Eve L. Ewing’s Exceptional X-Men), Cyclops’ team in Alaska (Jed MacKay’s X-Men), and Rogue’s Squad in Louisiana (Uncanny X-Men by Gail Simone). From the Shadows will continue that trend with multiple new series starring your favorite mutants.

The ongoing runs, like Uncanny X-Men, Wolverine, and X-Men, will continue. However, there will be more series coming, and Marvel points out that some will have new starts, while others are getting their first ongoing titles in a long time. Here are the ones that have been announced so far.

Storm: Earth's Mightiest Mutant

Release date: February 4, 2026

Murewa Ayodele's previous run of Storm has been epic. She’s defeated gods and the U.S. Government and held back a cosmic being within her. In a new series, with a new title, Ayodele is joined by one of my favorite artists, Federica Mancin (Exceptional X-Men). How will the two of them top the previous run of Storm? How about an encounter with Death herself?

Cyclops

Release date: February 11, 2026

Writer Alex Paknadel (Astonishing X-Men Infinity Comic)and artist Rogê Antônio (Wolverines and Deadpools) have the challenge of writing the X-Men’s premier leader and idealist. In this series, Scott Summers doesn’t have his visor and is being chased by Donald Pierce and the Reavers. To top it all off, he’s alone in the woods. But if you think Cyclops is the one in trouble, you’re sadly mistaken.

Magik and Colossus

Release date: February 4, 2026

Ashley Allen and Germán Peralta take on the challenge of creating a series starring a duo fans never knew they needed. In Magik and Colossus, Piotr and Illyana Rasputin are back in Russia, battling monsters from their country's lore. This will be full of action, sibling arguments, and some creative-looking creatures. And since Ashley Allen just finished writing a ten-issue run of Magik, you know this will be a banger.

Inglorious X-Force

Release date: January 21, 2026

Writer Tim Seeley (Nightwing) and artist Michael Sta Maria (2025’s Ultimate Hawkeye) combine to create a comic book starring the mutants’ premiere strike force team, X-Force.

Cable is back with a gap in his memory and an assassination to prevent. Luckily, he has an all-star lineup of Akihiro (now the Hellverine), Archangel, and Boom Boom.

Rogue

Release date: February 21, 2026

Erica Schultz is taking her talents from Laura Kinney: Wolverine to Rogue, and she is joined by Deadpool artist, Luigi Zagaria. Marvel says this will dig into Rogue's past and, “Unfortunately, the past doesn’t stay in the past," and she will have to leave Haven, her "adopted" kids, the Outliers, and Gambit. What could be so bad that she'd go away from the closest thing to paradise she's had in years?

It’s been a while since Rogue has had her own series, and I can’t think of a better creative team to take on this series.

Generation X-23

Release date: February 18, 2026

Laura Kinney (Wolverine) has a new ongoing series, and she’s bringing her little sister (Gabby) with her. Marvel says Generation X-23 will bring in new heroes and villains into the world, and with a creative team like writer Jody Houser (Star Wars: Thrawn Alliances) and artist Jacopo Camagni (The Vision and The Scarlet Witch), this will be a hit.

Wade Wilson: Deadpool

Release date: February 11, 2026

Benjamin Percy (Wolverine) writes shocking and brutal tales, and he’s taking on a darker Wade Wilson story. Adding to this is Geoff Shaw (Red Hulk), who knows how to draw amazing action scenes. Together, fans can expect Deadpool’s healing factor to reach beyond what’s been seen.

This is easily the comic I’m looking forward to the most. We aren't going to see the life-loving Deadpool from Cody Ziglar's run, and that leaves a major question: What does this mean for his daughter, Ellie? Stay tuned to Bam Smack Pow to find out.
