Is it too much to ask that the Avengers: Doomsday trailer get released online? This is what Marvel fans have been asking ever since the studio unveiled the new teaser exclusively to audiences at CinemaCon in April. And yet, we are now almost a month removed from the event and it has not surfaced on the internet. That makes Marvel Studios one of the only major studios not to release their CinemaCon footage to a wider audience.
It's certainly creating even more hype and intrigue for the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie - which is already shaping up to be the biggest movie of the year. But considering how well the four Avengers: Doomsday teasers released beween the end of 2025 and the beginning of 2026 went down when they were released online, it's fair to say that the same would be the case for this new one. Unfortunately, it sounds like that won't be happening anytime soon.
The Avengers: Doomsday trailer likely won't release until July
According to industry insider Cryptic4KQual, the Avengers: Doomsday trailer could very well end up releasing in July instead of the initially-hoped May window. The scooper, who has a track record for being reliable when it comes to learning information ahead of official announcements, recently took to social media to quote tweet an old post of theirs from 2025 - which claimed that Marvel had an aggressive marketing push for Avengers: Doomsday in mind - adding this week: "Sigh... starting to believe it might be in July".
Fans had been hoping that the first trailer might surface this month, particularly because The Mandalorian and Grogu is set to arrive in movie theaters on May 22. According to a number of insiders, Marvel had been considering releasing the CinemaCon trailer to wider audiences by attaching it to the Star Wars movie's run in theaters (and eventually releasing it online for home audiences, too). This approach was successful with the first four trailers - which were attached to Avatar: Fire and Ash - so it's understandable that Marvel would have wanted to do it again here - especially as there is plenty of crossover between the MCU and Star Wars fans.

Needless to say, a potential July release has left fans confused considering that July is two months away (and will mark three months since the CinemaCon trailer was shown to audiences!). It also suggests that the CinemaCon trailer will never be revealed publicly, as the studio is likely holding out to showcase a brand new teaser that can go wide. And yet, it all makes sense anyway.
See, July was always one of the most likely places that the Avengers: Doomsday full teaser trailer would debut. It is, after all, the month in which Marvel Studios will return to Hall H for its iconic San Diego Comic-Con presentation. And yes, despite giving it a miss last year to focus on perfecting Avengers: Doomsday, Kevin Feige and the Marvel gang are expected to appear at the event this year. With that in mind, we can expect a big focus on Avengers: Doomsday itself.
Marvel loves a good SDCC panel and, over the years, it has revealed some of the biggest MCU trailers during the Hall H event. As Avengers: Doomsday is its next big project (this summer's Spider-Man: Brand New Day is a co-production with Sony Pictures), we can almost certainly expect a trailer to surface at the event. And with that, that now makes SDCC the most likely setting for the long-awaited release of that trailer.
While all rumors, reports, and reflections should be taken with a grain of salt until otherwise confirmed by Marvel itself, there is a real possibility that the studio will hold the official trailer release until San Diego Comic-Con. After all, Avengers: Doomsday itself isn't coming out until the holidays in December, so on paper a May teaser trailer seems a little early - especially when you've already unveiled four character-centric teaser trailers for the movie a whole year out from its release. And, taking that into account, officially launching the marketing push for the film at SDCC - on the same stage that Robert Downey Jr.'s return as Doctor Doom was confirmed two years prior - would certainly generate more than enough buzz to carry it through towards fall (when things will really pick up).
One thing is for sure as the wait continues: Summer can't get here quick enough!
Avengers: Doomsday arrives in movie theaters on December 18, 2026.
