It's been a strange few weeks to be a Marvel fan. Right around the time that audiences are preparing for the marketing campaign for Spider-Man: Brand New Day to commence, there is equal anticipation for Avengers: Doomsday, which has been holding its new trailer from wider audiences after debuting it at CinemaCon. And yet, despite these Marvel Cinematic Universe movies belonging to two of the biggest studios of all time - Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios - both have seemingly been hit by a number of leaks in recent months.
Spider-Man was hit harder, with both trailers leaking online before their official debut (including a new 4K version of the new one), but camera footage of Avengers' cinema-only trailers made their way online in December before Marvel could officially release them (the studio went to greater lengths to protect the CinemaCon one from suffering a similar fate). And yet, Doomsday is now seemingly at the center of a similar leak to the one that has befallen Brand New Day, and it's going to make the next few days a very interesting time for MCU fans.
Marvel's Avengers: Doomsday reportedly suffers similar leak to Spider-Man: Brand New Day
According to known scooper Marvel Hype Insider, Avengers: Doomsday has suffered a major leak similar to the one that Sony is currently facing with Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The post suggests that the leak currently includes one trailer, a poster, 17 previously unseen photos, along with some behind-the-scenes footage. If this is true, it puts the film's relatively unknown plot at risk of leaking online before the studio unveils the new trailer.
Marvel fans were quick to react as the post has since gone viral with over 80K viewers. One was in awe at the aspect of both Avengers: Doomsday and Spider-Man: Brand New Day suffering major leaks within the same month. Another celebrated the possibility because Marvel Studios has withheld the official Doomsday trailer for months now. And another has questioned the validity of the leaks as Marvel and Sony are two different studios.
It's important to note that all leaks should be taken with a grain of salt until otherwise confirmed by Marvel Studios, but it has highlighted a wider issue taking place right now, in which major studio movies - or promotional material associated with them - are at risk of making their way around the internet before their official release dates. Again, we point to Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which had two trailers leaked, along with brand new promo artwork, a whole week before Sony was set to officially launch the marketing strategy (when tickets when on sale).

To make matters worse, leakers reportedly have an early, unfinished version of Spidey's next film, that fans are worried might leak online. Considering we're talking about a movie that is expected to gross north of $1 billion here, there would be demand for that - and it could put a dent in its eventual box office performance should the unfinished film leak online.
Back to Avengers: Doomsday, however, Marvel has indeed been making fans wait for that trailer. Although the studio got out in front of the typical promotional window for a December 2026 movie by releasing four trailers starting in December 2025 (specifically designed to tease the large audiences who went to see Avatar: Fire and Ash in movie theaters), there hasn't been anything significant since. Well, that is, until the CinemaCon trailer - which fans were expecting to be released online.
The descriptions of the footage have only strengthened the hype as Marvel fans eagerly await the trailer itself, imagining what those epic battles and incredible sequences teased by those in attendance at CinemaCon might actually look like. And, regardless of the leaks, they probably won't have too much longer to wait as it is now expected that a new trailer will be unveiled during Marvel's annual Hall H panel this July at San Diego Comic-Con.
Let's just hope that the film doesn't suffer any major leaks before that!
Avengers: Doomsday arrives in movie theaters on December 18, 2026.
