The world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has never been more tense. Not only are the heroes of the franchise continuing to contend with regular recurring villains, the whole franchise itself must contend with the issue of the multiverse, and what all of these converging universes could mean for it. That's the Multiverse Saga for you and there are no signs of things slowing down.
The Avengers will reunite to battle Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars as the Multiverse Saga prepares to conclude. Throughout that time, Spider-Man will return to screens in his fourth cinematic offering to battle a new villain, while Daredevil and The Punisher will be bringing the fight to the street-level threats of the MCU. And let's not forget the threats that await the Thunderbolts and the Fantastic Four in their respective movies this year.
With that in mind, Marvel has unveiled the first official look at the MCU's next villain - or, well, his more heroic side - and it's nothing short of awesome.
Marvel unveils first look at Sentry in official action figure
Marvel has revealed the first official look at Sentry in the upcoming Thunderbolts* movie. The glimpse comes from a first look reveal of the Marvel Legends action figure of the character, giving us a chance to see that he will indeed be sporting an incredibly comic-accurate suit - much like the reports have alluded to leading up to the film's release.

Sentry will be portrayed by Lewis Pullman in Thunderbolts*. The character's official name is "Bob", who - as we have seen in the film's trailers - is seemingly imprisoned by Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis Dreyfus). Although he is capable of greatness due to his immeasurable power, Bob has a dark side known as The Void - who looks like he's set to be the film's official Big Bad.
The trailer for the movie that was unveiled at the Super Bowl showcased The Void taking out innocent bystanders, claiming that he couldn't be beaten. It will be that event that seemingly unites the Thunderbolts, as Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Red Guardian (David Harbour), Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko), Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), and John Walker / US Agent (Wyatt Russell) all team up to stop him.
Bob's good side, however, is known as The Sentry, and he's one of the most powerful individuals in all of Marvel Comics. With his golden uniform (to match his golden hair) and long blue cape, he has one of the most traditionally heroic looks of any character in the source material, and so fans have been excited at the prospect of seeing that suit in live-action. Judging by the figure, it looks like Marvel Studios is going for a pretty comic-accurate adaptation.
Pullman will reprise the role in Avengers: Doomsday so it's looking like Sentry will win out over The Void. Given that the Avengers are going to need all the help that they can get stopping Doctor Doom and saving the multiverse, having one of the most powerful Marvel characters of all time on their side is undoubtedly a very, very good thing.
And speaking of good things, Sentry's suit is nothing short of spectacular - something that will no doubt make audiences even more excited for the upcoming film.
Thunderbolts* arrives in movie theaters on May 2, 2025.
