The cast of Avengers: Doomsday was revealed, and a few iconic faces were missing. Fortunately, one of them might have confirmed their return.

There's no easy way to say this, but the Marvel Cinematic Universe is doomed. The multiverse as a whole is about to collapse, and Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom will use this opportunity to reshape reality in his image. On the bright side, the battlefield will be leveled when Earth's Mightiest Heroes assemble once again after a long hiatus. But who exactly will join the fight against the Ruler of Latveria?

During a five-hour livestream, Marvel officially revealed the cast of Avengers: Doomsday... or at least, a part of it. Thor, Captain America, the Thunderbolts, Loki, the Fantastic Four, Shang-Chi, the X-Men, and more will all appear in the highly anticipated crossover. While a list of 27 actors isn't short by any means, we couldn't help but feel some names were missing. To take things a step further, the official Marvel account said that there's still room "for more" characters to appear. But who exactly could they be talking about? Well, it appears we might've learned the identity of one of them, at the very least.

Hailee Steinfeld might've confirmed Kate Bishop's return in Avengers: Doomsday

While attending the premiere of her upcoming movie, Sinners, Hailee Steinfeld was asked if we're going to see Kate Bishop in Avengers. Hailee nodded in response, refused to elaborate, and simply walked away.

There could be the possibility that she was nodding at the crowd, and the timing with the question was simply unfortunate. However, it's worth remembering that a recent report revealed which unnanounced Marvel characters would also appear in Avengers: Doomsday, and both Kate Bishop and Hawkeye were a part of that list. Furthermore, Marvel artist Mushk Rizvi released concept art that was presumed to be for an upcoming Avengers movie, and thanks to it, we got our first look at the Young Avengers. And wouldn't you know it, Hailee Steinfeld's Kate Bishop is a part of the group along with the likes of Ms. Marvel, Wiccan, Speed, and Cassie Lang,

The idea of the Young Avengers isn't new in the MCU. During the post-credits scene of The Marvels, audiences witnessed how Kamala Khan recruited Kate for a new group of heroes. Interestingly enough, both characters were missing in the official Avengers: Doomsday cast reveal, which could be Marvel's way of attempting to preserve the surprise before the movie is finally released. But it wouldn't be too far-fetched to assume that such a big post-credits scene tease would finally pay off during Marvel's biggest crossover to date.

Kate Bishop is a part of Marvel's "new" wave of heroes who made their debut after the release of Avengers: Endgame (and a fan-favorite, for that matter). Unfortunately, none of these new faces have enjoyed any form of consistency when it comes to appearing in multiple projects, with the exception of Ms. Marvel and Monica Rambeau. However, Marvel is known for always having a plan in store for its characters, and hopefully, that's the case here as well. So when Avengers: Doomsday premieres, it shouldn't be shocking to see many of the recently introduced heroes in the fight against Doom.

Avengers: Doomsday will be released on May 1, 2026.
