Ever since the Infinity Saga came to an end with the release of Avengers: Endgame, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been introducing numerous new characters to fill the void left by previous legends like Iron Man and Black Widow. Heroes like Yelena Belova have found major success in recent memory—returning in multiple projects and easily winning over fans' hearts along the way. However, there have been others who debuted in their own standalone project and were never seen again.
The Eternals are perhaps the biggest example. These larger-than-life heroes stepped into the light to save the world from complete destruction, and after that, they seemingly stuck to their vow never to intervene in human matters again. In a similar way, She-Hulk, Werewolf by Night, and Mephisto haven't been seen in the years since their respective MCU introductions. Fortunately, there's one character who could return just in time for the end of the Multiverse Saga and be positioned for a bigger role in the future.
Moon Knight will reportedly appear in Avengers: Secret Wars
According to insider Blue Minutes, Oscar Isaac will be back as Moon Knight in Avengers: Secret Wars. The beloved actor first played Marc Spector over four years ago in his standalone Disney+ series, but while the final episode certainly teased that there was more to his arc, he hasn't been seen in the MCU again.

The supernatural characters and storylines as a whole seem to have been set aside while Marvel crafts the end of the Multiverse Saga. Fortunately, it seems these abandoned ideas will be back at the forefront of the next MCU saga. Oscar Isaac himself has opened up about how there have been conversations about developing a Midnight Sons movie, and that plan is seemingly coming to fruition.
Marvel has officially confirmed that a Ghost Rider movie starring Ryan Gosling is in the works and set to be released in 2028. Furthermore, it has been reported that sequels to both Moon Knight and Werewolf by Night are being developed. Rumor has it that these storylines will lead to an ambitious crossover where Mephisto will take over Las Vegas, similar to the events of the Damnation comic book storyline.
Marvel could be looking to give us a taste of its supernatural future during the events of Avengers: Secret Wars. After all, different reports indicate that Ghost Rider could appear in the 2027 crossover movie, as well as a new iteration of Blade. The three, alongside Moon Knight, could cross paths for the very first time before a proper team-up further down the line.

Granted, it's always important to take any rumors with a grain of salt. Oscar Isaac previously denied his involvement in Avengers: Secret Wars, and while this could be a case of a Marvel actor trying to keep the surprise alive (much like Andrew Garfield prior to the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home), it's more likely that he was simply telling the truth. After all, he did reveal the existence of the Midnight Sons project not too long after.
A very important thing to keep in mind is that the Avengers movies are constantly evolving, and they could add shocking cameos in the very last moments of filming. After all, a Marvel stunt double has seemingly confirmed that a major hero will be included as a last-minute addition to Avengers: Doomsday. With that in mind, it is also possible that Oscar Isaac wasn't initially part of Secret Wars, but that has since changed.
Just as Marvel held a cast reveal presentation for Avengers: Doomsday, a similar scenario could play out again for the last project of the Multiverse Saga. The announcement would likely come next year, and while not every actor will be named, some characters like Moon Knight could very well be confirmed to make an appearance.
Only time will tell when and where Moon Knight will return to the screen. However, he's a big and popular enough hero that Marvel can't ignore him for years to come. So, with a bit of luck, Marc Spector will be back in action sooner than expected.
Avengers: Secret Wars will be released on Dec. 17, 2027.
