Marvel Studios' Avengers: Doomsday feels closer than ever. That's largely because it is, but the recent release of Avengers Endgame: Encore has resulted in it actually feeling that way too. Yes, the re-release of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's biggest juggernaut captivated fans of the MCU in recent days, reminding us all how epic the Infinity Saga's conclusion truly was and setting the stage for the conclusion of the Multiverse Saga in the process.
The upcoming movie will see Robert Downey Jr. return to the MCU franchise to portray a brand new character. Instead of the heroic Iron Man, he plays Doctor Doom - the new villain of the Multiverse Saga and a threat so great that even some of Earth's Mightiest Heroes are frightened of him. That's incredible aura for a villain who hasn't properly appeared on-screen yet. And it's aura that the trailers for the film have showcased in full effect.
Marvel's new Avengers: Doomsday PSA trailer challenges fans to silence their phones
Marvel Studios have unveiled a brand new teaser trailer for Avengers: Doomsday that challenges fans to Assemble Respectfully. The 30-second-teaser features one of the most pivotal scenes from the upcoming MCU movie, showing us that infamous moment in which Thor is overpowered by Doctor Doom, who blocks his attack from his signature axe Stormbreaker and then swats him away with a charge of energy. The moment is then interrupted by, well, see for yourself.

As the scene reaches its climax and Thor crashes back against a wall, we cut to a movie theater in which the Avengers are annoyed to hear a phone ringing, interrupting their own enjoyment of the movie. And by "the Avengers", yes, we mean the vast majority of the Avengers: Doomsday cast, all of whom have assembled in a movie theater to watch the movie - only to have it spoiled by the ringing phone.
Among the stars featured in the teasers are Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova, Chris Hemsworth's Thor, Simu Liu's Shang-Chi, Anthony Mackie's Captain America, Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes, Pedro Pascal's Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby's Sue Storm, Letitia Wright's Black Panther, David Harbour's Red Guardian, Wyatt Russel's John Walker, Hannah John-Kamen's Ghost, Winston Duke's M'Baku, Tenoch Huerta Mejía's Namor, Channing Tatum's Gambit, Rebecca Romijn's Mystique, and James Marsden's Cyclops.
The heroes, particularly Yelena, then react to the melee (as well as the interruption) with shock, surprise, and disgust. As the clip closes, we cut to black for the text: "Please Silence Your Phones" (which appears on the screen in a similar manner to Marvel's "(x hero) will return in Avengers: Doomsday" animation). It then rounds out with the Avengers: Doomsday logo and one more brief glance at the heroes in the cinema - with Yelena and Shang-Chi seemingly sharing popcorn while the rest of the heroes react around them.
The fact that this is just a fraction of the talent in the movie is just an example of how star-studded the MCU movie truly is. Of course, stars absent from this particular clip - but confirmed to appear in the movie - are Chris Evans' Captain America / Steve Rogers, Hayley Atwell's Peggy Carter, Tom Hiddleston's Loki, Ian McKellen's Magneto, Patrick Stewart's Charles Xavier, Paul Rudd's Ant-Man and Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom.
The only real footage we have seen of RDJ's Victor von Doom comes in the form of the two previous Avengers: Doomsday trailers. With the exception of a cameo appearance in the post-credits scene of The Fantastic Four: First Steps (in which we don't actually see his face), Doom has mostly remained off-screen in the MCU in the buildup to the larger-than-life release.
However, looking at the humorous PSA trailer does remind us that the villain does have his work cut out for him as Earth's Mightiest Heroes will be there to stop him. Although they may be having fun in the movie theater in this new teaser, they will be bringing their A-game to the fight of their lives in a bid to protect the multiverse from his reign of terror.
