The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a thrilling ensemble of superheroes, many of whom have spent the past two decades saving the world - and indeed the universe - from all kinds of threats. We've appreciated watching adventures on the big screen in which the likes of Thor, Black Widow, Hulk, Iron Man, Hawkeye, and Captain America stopped alien invasions, and on the small screen as Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and The Punisher all protected their city from more grounded, ancient threats.
But as the years go on, Marvel Studios has moved on from some heroes, retiring the characters or bidding them farewell with a noble, heroic death. Sometimes a new hero takes over their mantle, while most of the time it is simply retired with the hero who took their last breath in that armor.
Sometimes their legacy carries on in a friend or relative who picks up where they left off. And, after a tragic death in a recent Marvel project, it looks like that is exactly what will happen for one beloved hero.
Camila Rodriguez's Angela del Toro takes over as White Tiger in Daredevil: Born Again season 2
There's a new White Tiger in town. New set photos from Daredevil: Born Again season 2 (which can be viewed here in a tweet) have revealed that Camila Rodriguez will be stepping into the role of New York City's newest superhero as Angela del Toro takes over the mantle from her uncle. Hector Ayala (portrayed by Kamar de los Reyes) was the first White Tiger and he was a major part of the first season, standing up for the people who couldn't stand up for themselves, defending communities from criminals and corrupt police officers. Now, it looks as if Angela is set to carry on that legacy.
Hector was wrongly accused of killing a corrupt police officer in cold blood, leading to Matt Murdock defending him in court. He revealed that he was really the White Tiger, resulting in him eventually being proven innocent. But Wilson Fisk's corrupt Anti-Vigilante Task Force didn't let that go, with officer Cole North killing Hector as he suited up as White Tiger one more time.

Hector's death sparked outrage, particularly from Matt himself who eventually felt compelled to suit up as Daredevil again (after remaining retired for a whole year). The moment that truly made him put the suit back on, however, was when Hector's niece Angela was kidnapped by Muse when she attempted to carry on his investigation into the serial killer in the tunnels. Like Matt, Angela had been frustrated with the police's lack of care over Muse's attacks and attempted to take action herself.
Daredevil successfully saved Angela from Muse, and this allowed for his eventual defeat of the villain in general. But it appears that this won't be the end of Angela's involvement in the Born Again story, as she will now seemingly take to the streets as the next White Tiger in a bid to carry on her uncle's legacy.
As the set photos showcase, Angela's White Tiger suit will be a homemade version, as she sports a white sweater and black jeans, along with elbowpads and kneepads. Across her face is a white bandana with tiger stripes on it. The question is: Could we see a more comic-accurate look as the season goes on?

It's not that surprising to hear that Angela will be taking on the White Tiger mantle in season 2. The second season's premise revolves around Daredevil recruiting an army of New York heroes to stand against the corruption of Wilson Fisk. The first season finale revealed that this army will feature the likes of Karen Page, Cherry, Detective Angela Kim, and Josie, while other heroes such as The Punisher and Jack Duquesne / Swordsman are also expected to stand against him.
Better yet, we know that Krysten Ritter will reprise her role as Jessica Jones from the Netflix shows (with rumors that Iron Fist star Finn Jones and Luke Cage star Mike Colter may also appear). It sounds like White Tiger will also join the fray.
Daredevil: Born Again season 2 premieres in March 2026.
