Marvel Studios' critically-acclaimed VisionQuest has wasted little time in making its presence felt on MCU fans all around the world. It actually wasted no time at all, because the studio released the first two episodes a whole day earlier than its initially-planned release date. And to say that the move was well-received would be an understatement, because the show very quickly rushed to the No. 1 spot on Disney Plus' Top 10 (pulling previous shows WandaVision and Agatha All Along back into the Top 10 as well).

The series is a spinoff / sequel to those aforementioned shows, serving as the conclusion to the ground-breaking trilogy and bringing back Paul Bettany's Vision to do it. The character hasn't been seen since he evolved into the White Vision and disappeared into the sky in the finale of WandaVison back in 2021 (2023 in the MCU's timeline), and now he's back for an adventure that sees him attempt to reconnect with his humanity.

That's good news. And even more exciting is the fact that we don't have to wait much longer for the next episode.

VisionQuest's next TWO episodes officially come out on Tuesday (not Wednesday)

VisionQuest episode 3 and episode 4 premiere on Disney Plus on Tuesday, October 20, at 9:00 p.m. ET, 6:00 p.m. PT, 8:00 p.m. CT, and 7:00 p.m. MT. Yes, that's not Wednesday like we all initially expected; the Marvel show's new day going forward is indeed Tuesdays, which is obviously a very pleasant surprise.

Earlier this year, Marvel Studios confirmed that the show would release on October 14, meaning that it would release new episodes each Wednesday. But last week - just days ahead of the series premiere - the studio surprised everyone when they announced via social media that it would now premiere a day earlier than expected (October 13). What you might not have noticed is that this isn't a one-day thing: The whole release schedule has shifted, meaning that VisionQuest will be a regular of your Tuesday night schedule throughout its run - not Wednesdays as originally planned.

The decision to drop two weekly episodes for the first three weeks of its run is certainly interesting, and it has spawned a lot of discussion among fans online. After all, WandaVision only released two episodes as part of its premiere before reverting to the standard weekly releases. Agatha All Along did the same double-premiere technique while also releasing a double-finale, so it's clear that the single-episode weekly releases worked for these specific shows - particularly because they added to the mystery element that both of them employed.

That's why the decision to double up on VisionQuest for its first three weeks (and then revert to single episodes for its last two installments) is baffling to so many. This is part of the WandaVision Trilogy, and there is a core mystery at its heart. It makes sense that fans want to be able to enjoy seeing it unravel on a weekly basis. So, why the double releases?

With Avengers: Doomsday's December 18 release date approaching, it's highly likely that Marvel Studios are planning to have VisionQuest's run finish a little earlier so that the focus can solely be on the Multiverse Saga's biggest movie. As the studio is attempting to correct the oversaturation problem that is has experienced throughout this saga, having a show and a movie release at the same time might have risked running back into that trap. Therefore, having VisionQuest wrap earlier allows them to really kick off the Avengers: Doomsday promo throughout November and December.

VisionQuest now arrives on Dsney Plus each and every Wednesday through October.
