No, Agatha All Along episode 6 didn't just introduce [SPOILER] to the MCU

You might have thought that Agatha All Along was teasing the arrival of a beloved Marvel character (or two) but that's not the case.

Agatha All Along broke the internet with last week's episode in which it was revealed that (SPOILER ALERT!) Teen was actually the son of the Scarlet Witch, a.k.a. Billy Maximoff, a.k.a. Wiccan. It was the reveal that many fans had predicted in the days and months leading up to Agatha's premiere and yet the one that nobody truly saw coming in episode 5. The timing of the grand reveal said a lot, as it has set the stage for an incredibly intriguing second half of the Disney Plus show's season.

That second half kicked off with this week's episode. The sixth installment of the nine-episode series, it saw Agatha and Billy resume their trek through the Witches' Road in search of their next trial. But that's not all it did, as it took a look back at the events of the series thus far, but through a different lens: Billy's.

That also came with some surprising new additions to the cast (including one MCU returnee). Naturally, fans of the franchise have questions, but the answers might not be as exciting as they hoped.

Billy's boyfriend Eddie is not Hulkling (or at least not yet)

The sixth episode of Agatha All Along introduced us to the origins of Teen. Or should we say Billy Maximoff, whose soul escaped the Hex that Wanda Maximoff took down at the end of WandaVision and made its way into William Kaplan's body. The William Kaplan that we met at the start of the episode sadly died in the Eastview car accident moments beforehand, which allowed Billy to settle into him.

Flash forward three years later, and Billy has a boyfriend named Eddie (played by Miles Gutierrez-Riley). The two make quite the double act, as we're first introduced to them during an intimate moment when they announce their love for each other. In doing so, Billy reveals that he's not actually William Kaplan, and Eddie believes him. From there, the two launch an investigation into who he could be, eventually deducing that he is indeed Billy Maximoff, a.k.a. Wiccan, the son of Wanda Maximoff and Vision.

Naturally, the idea of Billy having a boyfriend is exciting to comic book fans, as the character is involved in one of the most high-profile same-sex relationships in Marvel Comics. Wiccan falls in love with, and eventually marries, Teddy Altman, a.k.a. Hulkling. The relationship was acclaimed by both fans and critics for marking a major step forward for LGBTQIA+ representation in comics, so when it was rumored that Billy would be joining the MCU, fans wondered if Hulkling would come next.

While Marvel Studios doesn't shy away from retelling the Marvel Comics stories in its own unique ways, it's unlikely that Eddie is actually Hulkling. For starters, he doesn't appear to possess any abilities that would suggest as much, and there is no reason to suspect that he has a shielded name like Teen did.

Furthermore, there have been a number of rumors that Marvel was planning to cast Hulkling in the near-future (including one that suggests that a major actor who Joe Locke knows pretty well could play the role) to lay the foundations for a Young Avengers movie, in which Locke's Wiccan would likely return. As the Young Avengers play a major part in the love story between Wiccan and Hulkling, that would make sense.

Now, Marvel could be pulling the wool over all of our eyes, but since most of the Agatha All Along rumors surrounding Billy have so far been true, it's likely that Hulkling will arrive in the future (and hasn't already appeared).

Evan Peters returns to the Marvel universe (but not as Quicksilver)

Another Agatha All Along rumor that turned out to be true was the return of Evan Peters. Yes, that's right, Ralph Bohner is back in the MCU. And it really does remind us that this show can be quite confusing for anyone who didn't watch WandaVision.

For those that didn't (what are you waiting for, watch all nine episodes on Disney Plus, right now!), Evan Peters appeared in the fifth episode of the season when it appeared that he was reprising his role as Quicksilver from Fox's X-Men movie series. You know, the silver haired speedster who was an alternate version of the silver haired speedster in the MCU that also went by Quicksilver? Peters' was Peter Maximoff, while the MCU's version was Pietro Maximoff, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson. But it was all a rouse by Agatha Harkness designed to make Wanda think that her brother was still alive.

In reality, "Pietro" was actually Ralph Bohner, a harmless Westview resident who had been brainwashed by Agatha to pose as her husband when she was playing the role of Agnes. She had him deliver information to her, upend the Maximoffs' lives, and hold Monica Rambeau prisoner for a short while.

Now, Ralph was there to deliver information to Billy Maximoff about what went down in Westview and what Agatha had done to him. It was a pivotal conversation that allowed "Teen" to understand what happened and realize that he might actually be one of the Scarlet Witch's sons.

So, if you haven't seen WandaVision, seeing Evan Peters might have convinced you that the Fox X-Men's Quicksilver was now a part of the MCU (like all of us who did watch WandaVision were momentarily tricked into believing by Agatha three years ago), but that's not the case.

Ralph Bohner is back for what appears to be one week only, and what a pivotal return it was.
