The last time Earth's Mightiest Heroes assembled on the big screen was over seven years ago, when legendary characters such as Black Widow and Tony Stark were still alive, and the Guardians of the Galaxy still had their original roster. Naturally, a lot has changed since then. Beloved heroes are out of the picture, while newcomers have won over fans' hearts. So now that Avengers: Doomsday is finally on the horizon, the question becomes: Who else will battle Doctor Doom?

The official Avengers: Doomsday cast announcement revealed over 25 characters are set to steal the spotlight in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe crossover. However, that list isn't complete just yet.

Marvel is saving some surprises for the release date, and superhero fans have been wondering who else will make a surprise appearance. However, our days of living in the dark have come to an end, as a Marvel TV character was seemingly confirmed to join the cast of Avengers: Doomsday during an interview.

Ms. Marvel will have a role in Avengers: Doomsday

She saved the universe twice before, and it looks like we're about to see her do it once more this December. Cinema Hub recently interviewed Andy Serkis and Iman Vellani to promote their latest movie, Animal Farm. However, the conversation unexpectedly revealed a big Avengers: Doomsday surprise when Iman Vellani told Serkis, "I'm excited for Gollum," to which he replied, "I'm excited to see you in Doomsday."

Maybe this statement could be brushed off as a joke, but Vellani's reaction makes it seem that she is indeed joining Earth's Mightiest Heroes. After all, her answer to such a reveal was, "No. You can't say that," seemingly confirming her role in the movie. To double down on this idea, renowned insider John Campea confirmed that we'll see Ms. Marvel on the big screen later this year.

Even though the Multiverse Saga is coming to an end, very few projects have dealt with the multiverse itself. That being said, The Marvels was instrumental in setting up the events of Avengers: Doomsday, as Monica Rambeau was trapped in the X-Men's universe, which will likely provoke a devastating incursion in the MCU. Reliable insider Alex Perez even revealed that Monica will be instrumental in "brokering peace" between Earth's Mightiest Heroes and the mutants.

Since Ms. Marvel's and Monica's last MCU appearance was in The Marvels, and Monica will be in the upcoming crossover, chances are Kamala Khan will also join the adventure. Besides, it's important to remember that a very important superhero team is bound to join the MCU, and Ms. Marvel will lead it.

Leaked Avengers: Doomsday concept art revealed that the Young Avengers will finally assemble on the big screen. Furthermore, a recent report claimed that most Marvel heroes will be under Doctor Doom's control during the events of Avengers: Secret Wars, with the exception of the Young Avengers and a handful of iconic Marvel veterans. With that in mind, it's safe to say that Ms. Marvel will be instrumental in the MCU's future, making her appearance in Doomsday all the more likely.

A key detail to consider is that if Kamala Khan has a big role in Avengers: Secret Wars, as it's being claimed, then chances are she won't have much participation in Avengers: Doomsday. Both ensemble films are likely to have different leads so that everyone has a chance to shine. So far, it seems that the Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts, and X-Men from the Fox era will have a lot of screen time in the upcoming MCU crossover, leaving little room for others to steal the spotlight. However, we all know Marvel likes to tease projects to follow, and that's where Ms. Marvel could come in.

While the jury is still out on whether fan favorites such as Tom Holland's Spider-Man or Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch will appear in Avengers: Doomsday, it's nice to know that Kamala Khan will finally join Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Fortunately, it won't be long before we figure out how it all pans out.

Avengers: Doomsday will be released on December 18, 2026.
