Sebastian Stan's role in The Batman: Part II has been revealed (and it's not who you think)

It appears we won't see a new face of Sebastian Stan, after all.

We've reached a point where The Batman: Part II feels like an urban legend, much like the Caped Crusader himself during his early days protecting Gotham City. The highly anticipated DC Elseworlds sequel was originally meant to be released in October 2025 before being pushed back to October 2026. Unfortunately, the film was delayed again to October 2027, and it finally landed on a (hopefully) definitive release date of Feb. 18, 2028.

To make matters more complicated, director Matt Reeves had to take a pause from filming, and Steven Soderbergh stepped in to oversee the rest of principal photography. Moreover, production was temporarily paused at the start of October when a cast member was run over by the Batmobile on set. Fortunately, the person affected is now recovering at home.

In between all the delays and behind-the-scenes issues, fans have learned virtually nothing about The Batman: Part II. While it has been confirmed that Sebastian Stan, Brian Tyree Henry, Scarlett Johansson, Charles Dance, and Sebastian Koch have joined the DC Elseworlds project, we don't know who they will be playing. To make matters more confusing, there have been many conflicting reports about which actor is portraying which character. But at long last, it seems we finally have some official answers.

Sebastian Stan will seemingly play Victor Zsasz in The Batman: Part II; Brian Tyree Henry will portray Two-Face

Heidi Klum is known for her over-the-top Halloween costumes. This year, she decided to dress as a terrifying, severed hand. The results look great, and Klum's makeup team decided to post a picture of the process behind crafting such a costume.

Interestingly, makeup artist Mike Marino—who worked on Klum's costume—also happens to work on The Batman: Part II. So what the team didn't realize is that, in the back of the uploaded picture, there are multiple face sculpts and props used for The Batman: Part II.

There is a mold that is labeled with the word "Zsasz," which, of course, refers to the Batman villain Victor Zsasz, who carves a tally mark on his body for every one of his victims. Interestingly, it had been previously reported that Sebastian Stan would bring the serial killer to life. Now this rumor has been all but confirmed. Moreover, the picture also showcases a head sculpture of Brian Tyree Henry with one half of his face disfigured, which means he will be playing the role of Two-Face. This goes in line with the information revealed in the same report.

Interestingly, the picture also features multiple molds that have the words "Owl" written on them. It's likely that these molds hold sculpts for the masks that will be used by the Court of Owls, who have been long theorized and reported to be part of The Batman: Part II.

A different report, which also suggested Sebastian Stan would be Victor Zsasz, claimed that Scarlett Johansson would bring Poison Ivy to life. However, this version of the DC supervillain would be more grounded in reality, as Pamela Ivy would seemingly create toxins from plants, and she would use them to kill Gotham's wealthiest and most influential figures, which sounds a lot like the Court of Owls.

For the time being, it appears Two-Face, Victor Zsasz, and the Court of Owls will all have a role to play in The Batman: Part II, with Poison Ivy potentially joining them as well. Granted, this information hasn't been officially revealed by Warner Bros. or its new parent company, Skydance. As such, there's always a slight chance the final cut of the film will feature different characters. However, filming for The Batman: Part II is already underway, and these head sculpts must have already been used to craft the final designs of the villains set to appear in the movie. So this is as official as a leak gets without being... you know, actually official.

The Batman: Part II will be released on Feb. 18, 2028.
