After the cancellation of Netflix's Daredevil, superhero fans spent years clamoring for the return of the Man Without Fear and his ensemble of street-level characters. Just when all hope seemed lost, a single week forever changed the course of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the lapse of two days, Matt Murdock made his long-awaited comeback in Spider-Man: No Way Home, while the Kingpin took over the spotlight in Hawkeye Episode 5. At long last, the devils were home.

Eventually, Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 opened up the doors for the return of more iconic Marvel characters from the Netflix shows. But while not everyone is back just yet, the party is just getting started. Marvel might be looking to make history once more by featuring yet another big comeback in a solo Spider-Man movie like it once did.

Claire Temple will reportedly heal Spider-Man's wounds in Brand New Day

First, it was reported that Rosario Dawson is in talks to join the cast of Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 as Claire Temple, and that her character will appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Now, we finally know what her role will be in the wall-crawler's upcoming movie. According to reliable insider Daniel Richtman, the Punisher will bring a badly injured Spider-Man to Claire so that she can heal his wounds.

Claire's appearance in Brand New Day could be more than just a cameo; it could be a sign of bigger things to come. Marvel is reportedly planning a big street-level crossover for its next Phase after the Multiverse Saga comes to an end. Heroes like Daredevil, the Punisher, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Spider-Man will join forces to fight the Kingpin's devilish regime as the Mayor of New York City. Incidentally, such a team-up was already teased in the finale of Born Again, in the form of a hidden Easter Egg.

Claire Temple got to meet all the Defenders in their own stand-alone series before their eventual team-up. She was part of the connective tissue that brought these heroes together, and she might do it all over again in the MCU. Peter briefly met Matt Murdock during the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, but for the two to properly join forces, they would need a common denominator, and now there are plenty of them: The two heroes will be affected by Kingpin's anti-vigilante law, they will both know Frank Castle, and perhaps even have an ally in Claire Temple.

On the one hand, it is a bit disappointing to know Spider-Man: Brand New Day will feature many Daredevil connections, yet Matt Murdock himself will likely be nowhere to be seen. On the other hand, it's clear Marvel is laying the ground for their upcoming crossover further down the line.

Interestingly enough, it has been rumored that the wall-crawler and the Man Without Fear will both miss out on the events of Avengers: Doomsday. However, the former will reportedly have a prominent role in Avengers: Secret Wars, while the latter will finally join forces with Earth's Mightiest Heroes in the same movie. With that in mind, there's a chance we see their long-awaited team-up even sooner than anticipated.

It won't be long before we finally discover if Claire Temple will show up during the events of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and whether she also makes a small appearance in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. With a bit of luck, everyone's favorite nurse will show up in both places and start bringing our favorite heroes together once again.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released on Jul. 31, 2026.
