The Marvel Cinematic Universe doesn't shy away from star power. In fact, it's known for it. So many of the world's most famous stars are associated with the legendary franchise, while others became famous because of it. There is no denying that the MCU is capable of drawing in big names as well as it has drawn in audiences over the years. And it will continue to do so as the years go on.

As Marvel Studios begins to wind down on the Multiverse Saga arc that is currently ongoing (the final chapter will begin with the release of Avengers: Doomsday next year), the pieces are being placed on the chessboard for the next saga. It's expected to focus primarily on the mutants, a.k.a. the X-Men. Needless to say, that's a story that has been a long time coming. And now, rumor has it that a major star will be about to make their presence felt on the franchise as one of them.

Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown potentially in the running for an X-Men role in the MCU

According to well-established Marvel insider MyTimeToShineHello, Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown is being eyed by the studio to play a role in its upcoming X-Men movie. Although there has been no confirmation from Brown as of yet about whether this could come to fruition, it has understandably got the Stranger Things fans exicted at the possibility of seeing the young star make her way to the MCU.

Ironically, this wouldn't be the first time that she has been associated with the franchise, or even the X-Men for that matter, and that could be the key to deciphering which role she could play. For the past few years, fans have been hoping that Brown might get the chance to play Kitty Pryde in a potential X-Men project, with a bunch of fan art imagining what she could look like in the role. This might have been in response to some rumors that were going about a few years back that also suggested it could happen. There was no official confirmation but, then again, no X-Men movie came to fruition either.

There is now officially an X-Men movie in development at Marvel Studios, with Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier attached to direct this one too. After his success with the previous MCU ensemble movie (which was hailed as one of the best Marvel movies in years), hopes are extremely high for this one. They are also high because this has been a long time coming, with fans longing to see Marvel's Mightiest Mutants as a part of the MCU for years now.

It's been clear that it has been going to happen for some time now, with the Multiverse Saga paving the way for that via cameo appearances from Sir Patrick Stewart and Kelsey Grammer - who reprised their respective roles as Professor X and Beast from the Fox X-Men movie series in separate MCU movies - and the return of Hugh Jackman's Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool in the starring roles of Deadpool and Wolverine.

Now it's only a matter of time until the official MCU iteration of the X-Men make their presence felt in the MCU. The only question is: Will Millie Bobby Brown be among the stars of that movie? It's a possibility for sure. And if it does come to fruition, she would be the third major Stranger Things star to join the MCU franchise, after David Harbour - who plays Red Guardian in Black Widow and Schreier's aforementioned Thunderbolts* - and Sadie Sink - who is set to star in Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Secret Wars in a mystery role.

Stranger Things just returned to Netflix to commence its fifth and final season and it has very quickly become the most talked-about show in the world (again!). The second installment will release on Christmas Day with the series finale coming out on New Year's Eve.
