Back in 2023, Insomniac Games released the last installment in their Spider-Man video game franchise. Some loved the gameplay improvements found in Marvel's Spider-Man 2, along with being able to glide through the skies in an unprecedented design choice that added plenty of depth to the traversal mechanics. Others didn't like Venom's portrayal and felt like the main story was rushed towards the end. But regardless of the title's reception, we all wanted more superhero adventures set in the world that Insomniac Games meticulously crafted, and fortunately, that's exactly what we'll get.

Of course, we all know that Marvel's Wolverine is the next stop in the journey, as it has a release window of Fall 2026. However, rumor has it that there are more titles being developed behind the scenes. At this point, it's very well-known that Marvel's Spider-Man 3 is coming our way, given that the voice actors behind Peter Parker and Miles Morales have already given us some interesting story tidbits about what's to come. However, a game that isn't as certain (but is perhaps the most exciting) is Marvel's Venom.

For quite some time now, it's been rumored that the Lethal Protector will have its own spin-off game, with Eddie Brock possibly acting as the symbiote's host, and Carnage wreaking havoc as the main antagonist. Now, a new report reveals the game will include some iconic alternate looks for Venom that are bound to make fans happy.

Marvel's Venom skins will reportedly include Anti-Venom, Captain Universe, and more.

It has become a bit of an unspoken rule for superhero games to include many skins for players to unlock and enjoy. The Batman Arkham saga, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, Spider-Man: Web of Shadows... you name it. They all include alternate costumes for their respective playable characters, and it seems Insomniac's secret project won't be any different.

According to insider That REDACTED Guy, Marvel's Venom will include multiple different skins, with four of them being: The iconic Anti-Venom look, The Captain Universe design seen in the King in Black comic book event, Mac Gargan's Venom, and Tom Hardy's Venom. It's worth noting that this is just a small sample of what's to come, but there's no denying that these four attires are among some of the most iconic in the Lethal Protector's wardrobe.

Popular choices for additional skins among fans are Venom's look in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 3 and the timeless Todd McFarlane design. Of course, Marvel could also include an All-New Venom costume, given the character's current comic book run, and perhaps some others based on other symbiotes such as Toxin or Riot.

In addition to the reveal of these four skins, the same source also reported that Marvel's Venom is likely to include a fight between the Lethal Protector and Wolverine. At this point, the two have a complicated past in the video game world, given their previous confrontations in Ultimate Spider-Man (2005) and Spider-Man: Web of Shadows. Last, but certainly not least, it's been heavily rumored that the symbiotic game is targeting a 2027 release date, just in between Marvel's Wolverine and Marvel's Spider-Man 2.

2026 could be the year when we finally get the confirmation of Venom's spin-off title, along with a proper reveal date. Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see if Marvel's Wolverine holds any Easter Eggs that suggest Eddie Brock will bond with the parasitic symbiote. After all, there was a hidden room in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 that suggested that the hand could appear in Logan's upcoming game, and that is very likely to be the case. Fortunately, we aren't too far away from getting some much-needed answers.
