With every passing day, we're closer to witnessing the doom of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. It is no secret that Avengers: Doomsday is the most anticipated superhero film of the year, which means fans are eager to get a glimpse of the shocking team-ups and ruthless dangers that lie in store when the movie finally sees the light of day. But even when Marvel released four teaser trailers of its upcoming crossover back in December 2025, the first full-length trailer still eludes us to this day.

When Disney attended CinemaCon 2026, it surprised attendees with a closed-doors look at Earth's Mightiest Heroes' upcoming adventure, and breakdowns of the footage quickly made their way online. Since then, many reports have surfaced indicating that the trailer will finally be publicly released during this year's San Diego Comic-Con, where Tobey Maguire's participation as Spider-Man could also be revealed. Fortunately, it seems we won't have to wait until the event to learn what Marvel will decide to showcase about its most ambitious film to date.

A new Avengers: Doomsday report reveals what to expect from the film's first trailer

Insider MyTimeToShineHello has provided a breakdown of the first Avengers: Doomsday trailer, and it appears to be a mix of the footage Marvel showcased back at CinemaCon with a few new scenes added in. Things begin with our first live-action look at Doctor Doom sitting on his throne in Latveria before he starts to walk through his castle. We then see a painting of Doom's wife and son hanging on a wall, two characters whose deaths are rumored to trigger the villain's arc in the movie.

After introducing the next MCU threat to fear, the trailer then switches things up and gives us a look at the heroes that will rise to save the day. Thor and the Fantastic Four arrive at the New Avengers Tower, where all these groups of heroes get to interact with each other for the very first time. Viewers won't get a chance to take a breath, as shortly after, Steve Rogers shows up at the party.

Thor doesn't believe he really gets to reunite with his fellow Avenger, saying, "That's impossible." So, Steve summons Mjolnir to prove that he is, in fact, the same "work colleague" Thor knew all those years ago. Furthermore, Steve meets Yelena Belova and tells her that she is family to him because her sister, Black Widow, was family as well.

Things take a dark (yet very exciting) turn as we'll then get glimpses of the Avengers fighting the X-Men. Much like in the CinemaCon trailer, there will be a shot of Yelena Belova fighting Mystique, who is disguised as Yelena herself. While the breakdown doesn't mention it, it is likely that we'll also get to see Shang-Chi facing Gambit, as that sequence was part of the CinemaCon footage too.

The Avengers: Doomsday trailer will then showcase a montage of scenes featuring different characters in different settings: The X-Men will be showcased at the Baxter Building; Reed Richards will yell "Answer me!" to Doctor Doom; and Loki will be shown standing in his TVA uniform in front of Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter's house. It all leads to a scene where Thor swings his axe with full force at Doctor Doom, but the villain stops the blow with a mere movement of his hand.

Up to this point, most of the scenes showcased were also part of the footage Marvel unveiled at CinemaCon. However, the first Avengers: Doomsday trailer may end things with a bang, as a brand-new sequence will be added towards the very end. In it, we'll see Doom control the Sentinels and make them rise from the ground just in time for a big battle against Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Audiences already had a glimpse of this terrorizing shot courtesy of the leaked Avengers: Doomsday footage that was making rounds online.

Of course, it's always important to take rumors with a grain of salt. However, it wouldn't be surprising if this breakdown proves accurate, as it is basically the CinemaCon trailer with a few new scenes added in. Fortunately, it shouldn't be long before the curtain is finally lifted. Marvel has confirmed that it will host its iconic Hall H panel at SDCC 2026, and Avengers: Doomsday banners have already been spotted near the convention center. In just a few weeks, fans should get their first look at the MCU's doom (both figuratively and literally).

Avengers: Doomsday will be released on Dec. 18, 2026.
