Spoiler-Free Reaction 

One of the most entertaining and engaging stories so far.  From the opening action sequence to the development of each character, I felt like I was watching a DC animated series.  The art also complemented the writing nicely.  With bright colors and clean lines, each panel exuded dynamic movement.  This is definitely an issue that will keep you engaged.  If you like superhero team origin stories, this is a definite read.

Spoilerific Plot Points

  • Both of Earth-2’s Klarion and Kid Flash rescue Earth-2’s Tempest from Archimedes Grant’s aquarium, where he holds Tempest as entertainment.
  • Heretic joins forces with Klarion, Kid Flash, and Tempest to take down Archimedes Grant.
  • Archimedes Grant’s bodyguard, Hannah, is revealed to be Algorithm.  She reveals that she had a hand in killing the original Teen Titans.
  • During the raid by Heretic, Klarion, Kid Flash, and Tempest, Animal Girl grabs Archimedes Grant.  At the end, it’s assumed that she has killed Grant because the corrupt senator names the Earth-2 Immigration Act after him.
  • The new Teen Titans are formed with Heretic, Klarion, Kid Flash, Tempest, and Animal Girl.
  • No current tie-in with Futures End.
