Official Synopsis

The power of the White Lantern has brought Kyle to the brink of death! Now, he must decide whether to release that power into the universe or find another unsuspecting soul to take it on.

Spoiler-Free Reaction 

A very uneventful story that focuses on an alien woman named Saysoran and Kyle Rayner.  Saysoran is set up to be one person on a planet who won’t submit to some sort of mind control, but is tested by a White Lantern.  Much of the story is done via first-person narration and this very much slows the pacing to an already boring story.  I did enjoy the art and felt that the panels captured the visuals of the White Lantern pretty well.  This issue was very much forgettable and could’ve been improved with better character interactions.

Spoilerific Plot Points

  • Kyle Rayner, as a White Lantern, tests Saysoran.  As she passes, he hands the White Lantern ring to her.
  • No current tie-in with Futures End.
