Coincidental, in how Avengers was the #2 best seller in Phase 1, and so is its sequel in the Phase Two of the MCU. There should be no surprise that Avengers: Age of Ultron is a big seller! It debuted at #1 and managed to stay there for two weeks. It eventually got beat out by San Andreas and, this may hurt a little, – Tomorrowland.
Avengers: Age of Ultron went on to be the best the best-selling MCU title in 2015 in DVDs, Blu-ray and total. Sadly, it pales in comparison to the first Avengers film. Owning the first film was a big deal, the sequel not so much, especially since many prefer the first film anyways. Age of Ultron only makes up a little over 30% of the first film’s sales. Again, like other movies, this comes from a decline in DVD sales in general across the market and cheaper prices. Nonetheless, the fan reaction towards the film also plays something of a role.
