There's no denying the fact that Marvel fans have been thinking about little else than the impending arrival of Avengers: Doomsday but the studio has been so kind as to preoccupy some of their time with VisionQuest, ensuring that the wait doesn't seem so long. And considering that the Disney Plus series belongs to the critically-acclaimed, award-winning WandaVision Trilogy, it's been a welcome distraction.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been centered on Paul Bettany's White Vision years after his previous appearance in Westview, as the synthezoid grapples with hosting the original Vision's memories without the added emotions that he once felt. This ultimately leads him to a mental run-in with former enemy and father-of-sorts Ultron (played once again by the brilliant James Spader) and his son Tommy Maximoff. Yes, VisionQuest has been full of surprises - starting and ending with its own release schedule. This week's installment is no different.

VisionQuest episode 7's release date is one day earlier than Marvel originally told us

VisionQuest episode 7, titled "Immolation", will stream on Disney Plus this Tuesday, November 3, at 9:00 p.m. ET, 6:00 p.m. PT, 8:00 p.m. CT, and 7:00 p.m. MT. Just as we saw with the rest of the season, that's one day earlier than initially announced by Marvel Studios. The original release schedule for the series had new episodes releasing each Wednesday, but ahead of the premiere, the studio changed its mind, bringing the release day forward to Tuesdays instead - a plan which is remaining in place until the show's run is finished.

We are now well over the halfway point now, which seems an odd thing to say for a show that has been on our screens for only three weeks at this point, but Marvel has been releasing two episodes at a time throughout the course of those three weeks. Although it hasn't officially confirmed why that decision was made - which does seem odd considering that both predecessors WandaVision and Agatha All Along thrived on a episode-per-week release format - the belief is that it allows them to take VisionQuest off the board early enough to shift the focus entirely towards December's Avengers: Doomsday.

That being said, the double-episode releases have run out. Starting with this week's "Immolation", VisionQuest officially shifts to a single-episode-per-week release. It's also the penultimate episode of the series, meaning that we get to enjoy it in all its grandeur as it sets the stage for what is sure to be an edge-of-seat, fulfilling finale to not just this series, but the overall arc of the WandaVision Trilogy.

The previous two episodes saw Ultron make contact with Jocasta, which proved to be a learning experience for both of them. The eternal robot Ultron had realized that eternal digital life was lonely, finding connection in Jocasta, who was both human and robot. And Jocasta herself, resigned to the fact that humanity had failed her, found connection in him. The odd couple now have a new mission to "save" humanity from itself - something that Vision, his friendly AIs, and Tommy won't allow to happen.

There are just two episodes of VisionQuest left to air and we still have plenty of questions: Who is the Client? Can Vision and his family stop Ultron and Jocasta? And will Billy Maximoff make his long-awaited return to the MCU in one of the next two episodes? We'll at least get some of those answers in the next installment as we eagerly anticipate the finale. Thankfully, due to the updated release schedule, we won't have much longer to wait!
