Avengers: Doomsday is the biggest Marvel Cinematic Universe project crafted to date. As such, it is also the most secretive superhero film ever made. We know that Doctor Doom is coming, and that the Avengers alone won't be enough to defeat him. The Thunderbolts, Fantastic Four, Wakandans, X-Men, and even Steve Rogers will all need to come together for a chance to save the multiverse as a whole. But beyond that? Many details remain under wraps.
Superhero fans worldwide are still waiting to get a glimpse at Avengers: Doomsday. Granted, four teaser trailers have come our way, but the first full-length trailer still eludes us. Furthermore, we haven't even seen what Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom looks like in action. To make matters worse, we didn't even have a glimpse of the many different groups of heroes coming together to battle a common foe... until recently, that is.
Avengers: Doomsday footage was leaked, showcasing the X-Men, Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Shang-Chi, Steve Rogers, and Mr. Fantastic fighting against Sentinels controlled by Doom. However, the leaks didn't stop there, as a new image making waves online reveals the return of big Marvel legends. But before we continue, be warned: there might be potential Avengers: Doomsday spoilers below. If you don't want any surprises ruined, it's best to turn away now.

A new Avengers: Doomsday leak unveils the return of Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man, Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, and Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool
After the previous Avengers: Doomsday leak, reliable insider Daniel Richtman claimed that there's a "100%" real picture showcasing Wolverine, Spider-Man, and Deadpool. Furthermore, an account seemingly posted those photos on X (formerly Twitter), and they feature the trio of heroes reunited in the same place. Additionally, Wolverine has a strange device that seemingly confirms a plot point in the movie.
It has long been rumored that Avengers: Doomsday will kick things off with a big incursion between the X-Men's world and the universe seen in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man franchise. At that point, the X-Men have already survived many other incursions, and to do so, they always destroy the world clashing with theirs. While it wasn't specified how they manage to do this, the device held by Wolverine could prove to be the key.

Hugh Jackman's Logan and Tobey Maguire's Peter Parker will reportedly fight in the opening sequence of Avengers: Doomsday, but their rivalry won't last long. After all, the two iconic heroes will seemingly be the protagonists of Avengers: Secret Wars alongside Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool, Xochitl Gomez's America Chavez, Joe Locke's Wiccan, Ruaridh Mollica's Speed, Iman Vellani's Ms. Marvel, Hailee Steinfeld's Kate Bishop, Kathryn Newton's Cassandra Lang, Sadie Sink's Jean Grey, and Tom Holland's Spider-Man.
Fortunately, it seems we won't have to wait long to figure out if Tobey is coming back as the friendly neighborhood hero in the MCU's next crossover. Hasbro will reportedly make a Marvel Legends figure of him and unveil it during San Diego Comic-Con 2026, which is set to take place from Jul. 23 to 26. If that were to be the case, then chances are that Marvel will also showcase the legendary hero in the first Avengers: Doomsday trailer, which is also theorized to be released during the event.
Of course, it's always important to take any rumors or leaks with a grain of salt. After all, AI images and videos can be generated on the fly. However, all signs seem to indicate that the original version of Peter Parker will meet James Howlett and Wade Wilson soon, and we can't wait to see how it all pans out.
Avengers: Doomsday will be released on Dec. 18, 2026.
