The full length Avengers: Doomsday trailer is coming soon. Of course, the first teaser has been unveiled in movie theaters (and it has leaked online) but there will be a full-length teaser trailer released in the not-too-distant future, and there are some key things it needs to hit.
The fifth Avengers movie is still a year away, but the excitement is already building. The movie, which will see a massive roster of Marvel heroes taking on Doctor Doom, has unveiled the first of four planned teasers for the film.
Given that there is still such a long wait until the movie is released, you can bet that Marvel will be keeping the first footage brief. However, as the MCU tries to regain the popularity that has slipped away in recent years, the Avengers: Doomsday trailer also needs to be a massive hit with fans, and these must-have moments will make sure that it is.

Robert Downey Jr.'s take on Doctor Doom
One of the most exciting things about Avengers: Doomsday is that it will welcome Robert Downey Jr. back to the MCU. Downey Jr.'s casting as Doctor Doom was a shocking bit of news, and some fans are not sold on it being a good idea. Indeed, Downey Jr. is iconic as Iron Man, and Doctor Doom is a very different character.
The first trailer needs to help clarify what Downey Jr.'s Doom will be. Is he a variant of Tony Stark, or is he really Victor Von Doom? Surely, they will want to keep this villain somewhat hidden, but giving a sense of the performance will do a lot to ease worried fans. Downey Jr. is an amazing actor, and he may have an unbelievable take on this character.

The practical approach
A common complaint that has plagued the MCU since its early days is that all the movies have the same bland visual style. This only became more of an issue when these movies began heavily relying on CGI. Thunderbolts* and Fantastic Four were praised for being more visually interesting, and Avengers: Doomsday could follow suit.
There have been reports that this Avengers movie will be using a lot more physical and practical locations, rather than just having the actors standing in front of blue screens. Of course, this is still a superhero movie, so there will undoubtedly be a lot of CGI. However, if the trailer shows that this will be a superhero film with style, it pushes back on the criticism.

Thor's return
The casting announcements for Avengers: Doomsday revealed a massive ensemble of actors, and it makes perfect sense that Chris Hemsworth was the first name announced. Hemsworth's Thor is certainly the biggest among the names of returning MCU characters and will almost certainly be taking a central role in the story.
We haven't seen Thor since 2022's Thor: Love and Thunder, making it the longest the character has been missing from the MCU since his debut in 2011. Both Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars are also rumored to feature Hemsworth's farewell performances as Thor, making his return all the more exciting and something that fans will be thrilled to see. Why not start the buzz with an appearance from the God of Thunder in one of the trailers.

The classic X-Men costumes
The MCU is gearing up to make its own X-Men movie, but it will first let the original Fox X-Men actors have one final adventure. Patrick Stewart, Kelsey Grammer, James Marsden, and others are confirmed to be returning to their famous X-Men roles, but there is another element to their returns that has fans even more excited.
It is rumored that these characters will not be donning the costumes they wore in the movies, but rather they will have looks inspired by the classic 1990s show X-Men: The Animated Series (and its 2024 revival X-Men '97). Surely, the first trailer will give a glimpse at some of these X-Men characters, and it would be a mistake not to show off these nostalgic looks for the first time.

A secret character reveal
The cast list for Avengers: Doomsday is certainly a massive one, but it is also likely not the full list of characters. There are a lot of missing MCU characters who are not confirmed to be appearing, like Captain Marvel and Moon Knight. However, the first trailer would be a great time to let fans see that there will be some more surprise appearances. We now know that Steve Rogers will be involved, but who else will join him?
Just including one more character who has not been officially announced will thrill fans and set excitement to a new level. Of course, there are also rumors of bigger surprises, like Tobey Maguire returning as Spider-Man, but it is likely they will not spoil such a reveal in the first trailer.
