Spoiler-Free Reaction
I think this Futures End issue should’ve been released during Halloween. The art and the lettering teetered on the gothic and the subject matter was definitely something out of a horror movie. If you enjoy stories that deal with monster hunts, you might enjoy Batwoman: Futures End #1. The story has a lot of action, but, surprisingly, it’s pretty toned down on gore. With the exception of maybe only a few panels, we don’t see a lot of blood and guts. Nonetheless, it’s a pretty average issue that hits hard with action from the beginning and never lets up until the end.
Spoilerific Plot Points
- Batwoman, Elizabeth Kane, has become a blood-thirsty vampire who does on a murder spree.
- Kate Kane has become Red Alice.
- Kate is forced to kill Elizabeth with a stake through the heart.
- No current tie-in with Futures End.
