The road to Avengers: Doomsday may have been long but Marvel Studios has certainly treated fans with some surprises along the way. The most recent of those has been VisionQuest, which has thrilled us with spectacles, confounded us with questions, and kept us all on the edges of our seats. We would expect nothing less from the third and final installment in the critically-acclaimed WandaVision Trilogy.
Yes, like WandaVision and Agatha All Along, the Marvel Cinematic Universe's most recent foray into television has been a strong one, filled with mystery and dripping in potential. As we head towards its finale, anticipation to see how the trilogy that has become the Multiverse Saga's crown jewel comes to a close. And yet, Marvel Studios has spoiled at least part of the surprise in the official trailer for the finale.
Be warned, this article will contain likely SPOILERS from VisionQuest episode 8.
VisionQuest finale confirms those long-standing return rumors
Marvel Studios has officially unveiled the trailer for VisionQuest episode 8, previewing what fans can expect from the season finale. From the continuation of the arcs set forth in the previous, shocking episode to the promise of a major surprise, it looks like the episode, titled "Forever", will be a massive one for the MCU.
Watch it below:
There is a lot to love in that trailer. As expected, the clip teases the conclusion of the Vision / Ultron saga, as the former Avenger will look to stop his father-of-sorts from carrying out his mission to help Jocasta control the minds of the human race. Whether or not he can fully do that remains to be seen, but he does plan on doing that with his son Tommy Maximoff by his side - as the two will pull it off "as a family". And it's right as Vision utters those emotional words that the trailer promises "one final surprise".
Just as those words flash on the screen, we see Tommy enter a room with candles all around him. Although we don't see who he is looking at, the trailer has essentially spoiled the big reveal, confirming those long-standing rumors that, yes, Billy Maximoff (Joe Locke) would make a surprise appearance.
If the teases weren't enough to convince you that the trailer is referring to Billy, then this might do it. The last piece of footage showcased in the trailer features that familiar shot of Vision being either restored or re-powered by two magical hands - one of which exhibits golden energy and the other blue energy (along with black nail polish). The blue magical bursts, along with the black nail polish, is renowned for belonging to Billy, which we saw him use to full effect in Agatha All Along.

This is now the second time that Marvel has seemingly spoiled Billy's long-rumored return as an earlier trailer also featured that same footage of what appears to be his hand. This one, however, confirms that there will be a surprise in the finale - and that it will be related to the show's core theme of family.
With that in mind, it's not too surprising to see that Billy will appear in the VisionQuest finale. The show's purpose has been to reunite the Maximoff family. As far as Vision and Tommy were concerned, that was only them - as we saw in the previous episode that Vision finally acknowledged his grief over Wanda's death in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Billy's apparent death after the Hex was taken down. Of course, we know that isn't the truth, as Billy (a.k.a. Wiccan) was reincarnated due to his magic and, in Agatha All Along, he and Agatha Harkness successfully did the same for Tommy (a.k.a. Speed).
The Maximoff family reunion is happening in the VisionQuest finale, confirming the rumors that Billy will return. The only question is: Will his finally set the stage for the discovery that Wanda is still alive after all these years? You know we're all waiting on the Scarlet Witch's return - and the VisionQuest finale has brought fans one step closer to that.
